HELP NEEDED- Board suggestions

One reason I don't think the pinned threads gain traction is there's no posting activity indicator. When the normal threads get posted in they're bolded and shoot to the top. Pinned threads don't get bolder after a new post so we the posters aren't inclined to check up on it. I think if you make it so that it gets bolded after new posting activity then people would be more inclined to check up on them.
 
Not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze on a business front since it would be a decent amount of work but a high school/portal recruiting board of our targets/offers by position group. I can't currently find it but I know someone has posted in the past our roster by position group in a really nice excel spread sheet. Something like that to know who we are recruiting in an organized way would be awesome.
