Clowney quoted as saying, " ...he wants to go against James Hurst all game so he can "expose him. I want to cost him millions of dollars." If anybody lost any money (and the Heisman) it was Clowney. Hurst took that big guy's lunch money last night.
Renner, on the other hand, looks like he has regressed. But maybe it was S.C.'s pressure (sans Clowney.)
Bottom line ---- without seeing tonight's game, I like our chances against the 'Heels. Defense has holes, and that 'high-powered' offense just had no power. [But maybe the heat affected 'em, too.]

What???

I watched most of that game, UNC while not overly impressive, did put up a good fight. Several big plays killed them, the long TD pass, long TD run and the fumbled punt. To me that will be a game that truly shows where this program is, we aren't quite at UF and FSU level in terms of talent so losing to them would not be shocking, but the UNC game is the type of game that we have to start winning on a consistent basis.

Was not impressed by them at all. ..but they haven't been good in a while and have continued to give us fits. Hoping to see a better result this year, no way we should lose to these scrubs.

read this **** again and then turn off the computer

Last year at this time. Virginia lost or played close to some no name school, yet continues to beat us

Clowney looked good when he wasnt winded. But SC is totally overrated not as good as advertised. After watching last night..I can predict that UNC vs Miami will be a shootout and if our DLINE is any good we will win the Coastal.

UNC was not impressive. And I didn't see much fight put up. They were terrible in the redzone. USCe laid out a blue print to the beat these guys. That dink and dunk screen game only works if the opposing DC doesn't adjust. If you can stop their run game with 5 in the box and play match up on their WRs they can't score consistently and you saw that last night.

This guy Fedora can coach an offense, the problem is he has spots to fill. He lost his BIG TIME playmaker (Gio). In the pass game, they lost WR Erik Highsmith. In addition, he lost 3 OL (Bond, Cooper and Williams) who were all drafted.

In 2012, UNC had 2326 Rushing Yards, 28 Rushing Touchdowns, 3501 Receiving Yards and 29 Receiving Touchdowns.

Highsmith 54 for 587 5 TDs
Bernard 47 for 490 5 TDs
Combined loss: 31% of Receiving Yards and 34% of Receiving TDs

Bernard 184 for 1228 12 TDs
Loss of 53% of Rushing Yards and 43% of Rushing TDs.

I expect Fedora getting this offense to perform to the best of their abilities (given his track record) at around mid-season.

their issue is defense... UNC's d-line averages 275 and that's reported. Our O-line will maul them.

UNC d-line is tiny and they are filling a lot of holes from last year, otherwise they might have been competitive, and I actually wasn't disappointed in their showing because I have never thought their offense is good and Renner deserves any hype. Too early to tell which blend of USCe being overrated and the Tarheels being ok was displaying itself.

Last year we had a bad game against a UNC team that is more talented than this year and then our quarterback went down. It happens (too often these days, but it happened to even our great teams). This year we will run all over them and Morris will pick apart their secondary, and if last year's d locked them down, no way they put up big points on us this year.

If I look at our losses last year, UNC and Virginia are the two we should have had. See above for UNC. For Virginia, half the players on our already terrible defense were suspended and we still should have won.

Am I saying we won't lose a game we shouldn't? No, but I don't see that game being UVA or UNC.

Without the 60yard bomb and the 75 yard run the game was 13-10. What was impressive from either club?

ESPN said Clowney rolled his ankle early in the first quarter.

Plus they lost Sylvester Williams in the first round of the draft. I expect the offense to get better for UNC in the future but the defense to take a hit (as opposed to when Butch was HC).

We should maul UNC's defense.

First game of the season... I'm not sure that UNC will make the same first-game mistakes again

Also, it's not about the offenses.. The real question is can our DLine play like SC's DLine.. If not its going to be a close high scoring game. You also have to factor in UNC playing at home. I like the Canes to win only if this Dline can apply pressure, and make Reener look like he did last night.

UNC sucked donkey ****. SCe is the third-best team in their division.

And Clowny made Hurst fall on his face, literally, in the first half. It was like a reverse-pancake.

**** the Heels. Hope we beat them by 47.

Judging a team based on one game (especially the first game) is retarded. The UNC team you saw yesterday won't be the one that lines up against us. On top of that, every year that goes by they lose more of the master evaluator's players. Gio Bernard was a difference maker that they don't have on the roster now. That was a dude who you had to gameplan against. They don't have anyone like that to bail them out now.

Fedora will get that offense rolling because he's a proven commodity when it comes to doing that. He won't stop anyone though because he's also a proven commodity at that. And he's dealing with the added obstacle of losing most of **** Davis's great recruits. Same obstacle that proved to be Larry C0ckface's undoing.

UNC will always be a middle of the road or worse program. When our program finally digs out of the giant hole the last two brain dead **** mops put us in we won't be measuring ourselves against also-rans like UNC.
