Head to Head with the Big Boys: U$C Edition

i will doubt there ability to get savage DL and OL prospects, all the qbs and skill players in the world aint winning u a natty but thats my opinion. We will see how it play out with Riley. They have had success but its still below what they should be right now, they had all this hype for nothing last year. And I think Oregon recruits Cali better and nationally better than them cause of what Mario put in place there.
That's exactly why. I'm more worried about Lanning because he's the type to stay at Oregon while Riley wants to get to the NFL.

What? Of the top 25* California HS players for 2024, USC signed 2 dudes. Alabama signed 3. Oregon signed like 7. Not much better in 2023, either.

*per 247 Composite
And if they want to sign more they will lol. USC owns Southern California. Sure maybe Oregon can win some battles, but make zero mistake, USC is viewed as the program to Cali kids.
Oregon does well in California. But for the most part how well they are doing entirely started with Mario. They’re keeping it going for now. But USC has the ability to dominate Cali regruiting with relative ease tbh

Wiltfong just CB'ed Zandamela to USCw.
Those guys are getting whomever they want.
Just got a commitment from Marcelles Williams, after Dakoda Fields and Walter Matthews. Cleaning up.
I was wrong, we lost multiple battles with U$C last year. Updated the OP.

Hopefully this portal entry causes some of these FL/GA/East Coast recruits in the 25 cycle to pause and reflect

Lost another battle to U$C. Is U$C this year's OK and Oregon? Lots of insiders either said he was trending strongly Miami or actually had him on commit watch.

From their ON3 site:

Believe they got 2, possibly 3 commitments on the defensive side of the ball over the weekend. Hayden Lowe was the first to go public. They mention Floyd Boucard as another target they feel very good about. This comes from a long time, well respected writer on the site. He all but said he believes Boucard committed.

Interesting that Lincoln Riley put out his "commit " tweet and indicated three with their "fight on" emoji.

Anybody else feeling like USC is about to get the Manny Diaz Miami treatment, great starts to classes and then in season *** kickings commence and all hype dies along with their recruiting class.
Hope so.

Sounds like summer will be hot for them. Weird that Florida, particularly South Florida, is a focal point and an area where they have traction.

Saw Randy Adirika mentioned as well as Malik Autry. If all pop, no way all stick IMO. Still...good for them. A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

Geo had Lowe on commit watch and D$ said Miami had a lot of momentum after the OV and a much better shot than people thought (i.e. almost a commit watch). Then suddenly he commits to U$C. Is U$C still throwing around massive bags for defensive players this cycle?

Why would elite defensive players want to play for Riley (other than the obvious bags)? U$C has turned a ton of 5* defensive players into JAGs.

I've did a screen shot of this tweet cause Riley is going to delete it when he realizes the repercussions.
