Gator Envy has been real for over four decades.

Any old schooler knows who the University of Florida postured itself as for years—the official state power—until Miami turned that on its ear in the 80's and started beating them blind, while winning titles and sending the Gators packing (and hiding behind the SEC schedule to avoid playing "little ol' Miami" anymore.)
