He comin'.

Well, we assume that the coaches chose to honor Stephen by keeping him in the games even while hurt last year. For all we know maybe Morris still outperformed Williams in practice every week. We haven't seen Williams with any real competition. The games he came in and did okay were games that even Morris performed well in while hurt. So when it comes to this year's competition, I want a new guy to step up. We all know that star rankings can be trash but when it comes to the unknown, I'd rather the 4-star Olsen or even Heaps who has been a bust after being a 5-star than the 2-star Williams. Williams has the experience and the basics but the ceiling should be higher for the other two.

So star ranking should merit a starter? Olsen is booty, and five star Jake has run from every pressure situation he's been in. Ryan took some lumps as a true freshman at Memphis, transferred back home and has been playing his part ever since. Don't care what his ranking was, he's ready to do what is necessary, something four and five star can't say right now.

William by gave 4-5 100% he will be starting

first game of the season...how long you think Williams will have until he is ready to practice full speed? Even if he plays the first game don't expect much.

and you know LV will be coming after his knee every chance they get.

I clearly said star rankings can be trash. Who said Olsen is booty? He had a disappointing spring game so now he's worthless? Also every report on the four and five star this summer say they are doing what is necessary. Both of them are working very hard right now. Sure Williams knows the system better and can probably manage the game very safely. However is he going to be a difference maker in a close game? Don't see it. Give me the guys with potential to excel rather than the guy who will just get us by.

At this point, whoever can manage the game, make the most passes and the make the few mistakes is my criteria for QB in 2014. If all the QBs are even, then whoever is the best leader and the most calm during the storm. There is no guy on this roster right now, at this point, who is the the answer.

I like RW but he's not a playmaker. Love his timing, ball comes out harder than Jacory's and just softer than SteMo. Perfect for our receivers. I don't think Olsen is has close as we'd all like him to be... I could be wrong. Wishful thinking? Now as for Heaps, I think he'll surprise against UL (I doubt RW will be available) with the ****nal he'll have at his disposal. Oh, yea, I'm new here.

Miami Hurricanes QB Kevin Olsen will be suspended for at least 1 game this season for failed drug test. No comment from UM at this point.

Welp... Heaps it is. lol

Heaps if Ryan isn't cleared. If Ryan is cleared he is in.

I feel like we've slightly overrated Williams over the past year. I'm not saying he's bad but where did such high expectations of him come from?

It's funny that you ask this, because a year ago he was considered a bum. Wasn't until the "2nd greatest Miami QB in the past 20 years" completely turned all of his loyal poster against himself. That is when Williams started getting love and still most were trashing this dude late into the season. I still remember people saying " It was just Savannah St/USF people".

I personally don't think he's a game changer, but he'll distribute as needed. That's what we missed last year at the qb position.

Williams arm has definitely gotten stronger. He has the tools to lead a talented team, which we have. Even though he isn't a running QB, leg strength is still very important so that's obviously a big concern. Really pulling for him though, he has waited his turn and to have it taken away like that must be rough. Plus, we friggin need him.

I thought he was a solid backup. And it's not that I even think he will be that good. I just think he will come in and get the job done. He has Duke and a great set of receivers, so we don't need him to be a superstar. Plus he is the leader of this team, and that is huge, These guys will follow RW into battle. Heaps is not the leader, and obviously neither is Olsen, because leaders don't get busted for drugs during bowl week, and not learn from his mistakes for the start of the next season. Just ask DP and Duke who they trust most at QB...

I'll say. He's our best bet. The rest is misty conjecture.

RW has played in games and has proven he can find open mid field receivers when he was in. Olsen in not only suspended, his flop of a spring game showed he is a total wild card who evidently is so dedicated can't put down the bong. Heaps is a myth so far, zilch on how he will do here until he shows us something in actual 11 man sets next week - not the flag football workouts he's been 'looking good' in so far.

We'd be lucky as **** if RW is actually healthy to go now, and be timed up & game ready in a month....luckier if Heaps balls out if Williams can't, and Olsen is in his own cloud in 3rd place...not sure how we can expect much from him right now.

Fragile city, this situation is.
