Call it wishful thinking, but RW11 coming.

If he's healthy it's likely his job to lose. Still would be a **** of a recovery after just having surgery in March.

I think he'll be ready. He isn't a running back, if it is strong enough to plant and drive for a throw, I like our chances. He has to make that money for Roman, he's got a lot to gain/lose this season, and so far his approach appears to acknowledge as much.

He actually looks like a QB. Heaps looks like a Walk on trying to play. I really hope he can bring it. i was looking forward to seeing RW11 this year.

The best thing for all is to have Heaps be the starter and Olsen the back up. Then UM can run up the score on teams just to get Williams or Olsen into the game by late third quarter. But after what happened with Stephen Morris regression to bad throwing mechanics when he hurt his ankle last year, I think UM keeps Williams on the bench until late in the year.

Go Canes

Was it his right knee or left? Because the right knee is way more important than the left for a right handed qb. If its his left i honestly think it he could possibly be back for the UL game

Hold on, are we suggesting now that Ryan Williams is going to be an NFL QB? I am fine with him being our QB if he is the best on the roster and I am hopeful that he is able to manage the team better than Morris if he does get the nod, but NFL material?

LMAO at "looks like a QB" --- -Morris looked like a QB. Problem is he only played like one half the time.

At this point, I think I'm more excited by Olsen or Heaps. Heaps has been a bust but at least he has a higher ceiling, if he plays like the top rated QB coming out of high school. Olsen would be best case scenario if he has become more urgent over the offseason. Which it sounds like he may have. RW11 gives us maturity and game management but in a tight game will he be a playmaker?

Williams getting back to health is the best thing possible for this offense. IMO it's a race between he and Heaps if healthy.

I feel like Williams is a good enough QB. He'll get us through the season. Heaps could breakout or remain a bust. He could help us have a really good season if he plays like he should. Olsen would probably make more mistakes than those two but has more of a chance to be a playmaker rather than a game manager. Plus, Olsen would be more than a one year deal meaning Kaaya would have a little more time.

If he does nothing, then there is no shot, if he does, then there is a chance. Might not get drafted but holding a clip board brings huge dollars for the fam. Rest assured he knows as much.

He has more time invested than any other qb here, and seems to have it together more as well. I like what Jake brings but Ryan's story has to end some other way then some random dude from Washington taking his shine. This dude wears 11 for Dorsey for Pete's sake.

Caneshooter watermarks = WOAT

Agreed, destroyed some great shots.

After Jacorey and Morris, williams is the guy I want starting. Somebody who can actually put some touch on the ball, get to a second or 3rd read, check the ball down. All those things williams can do imo. Plus didn't Phillip rivers start a playoff game on a blown out knee? Williams doesn't need to push it like that but if his knee is 80% that's good enough imo.

I feel like we've slightly overrated Williams over the past year. I'm not saying he's bad but where did such high expectations of him come from?

From the qb play of Harris and Morris. They lowered the bar, now we just want somebody who can do the simple things a qb should be able to do.

Well, we assume that the coaches chose to honor Stephen by keeping him in the games even while hurt last year. For all we know maybe Morris still outperformed Williams in practice every week. We haven't seen Williams with any real competition. The games he came in and did okay were games that even Morris performed well in while hurt. So when it comes to this year's competition, I want a new guy to step up. We all know that star rankings can be trash but when it comes to the unknown, I'd rather the 4-star Olsen or even Heaps who has been a bust after being a 5-star than the 2-star Williams. Williams has the experience and the basics but the ceiling should be higher for the other two.
