I've always thought he'd be a Keir Thomas type and be a twitched up 3 technique. Definitely doesn't look like a stand up edge in the Guidry system he ran at Marshall.

If Bain is indeed 270, him learning from the new DT transfer Gore will be impactful to his future. Similar builds, but Bain is more versatile of course. But they both are disrupters whenever you buy them.

Biggest takeaways for me were him talking about needing to be open to adapting when something isn't working... specifically how we are changing the offense... spits in the face of the false narrative people make up about him being concretely set in his ways.

He also pushed back on the benefits of coaching stability. Flat out said this university and program deserve people who can grind and give it everything they've got, and when changes need to be made, etc... he used the term "weeding out" but then tried to retract it a bit lol.

All of this is paraphrased, btw.

Reminds me of McDougle. That dude had a thick lower half. Torso wasn't skinny - he was broad shouldered - but he was not a big dude. Unreal first step.

Mario called TVD the best QB in the country at his intro presser. Probably good that he's scaling back on the praise this year
