And I mean, it's not really bashing the kid when it's public knowledge and the coaches themselves have said he's needs to step up his effort.

Irvin could be a solid TE if he had Herndon's work ethic. So far that hasn't happened. Hopefully the competition from Mallory and Brevin gets him to step it up, otherwise he won't be getting reps, he'll be 3rd string

Mallory is not a TE! He is a big WR who could be used in the slot when Richt goes to power formation with Langham and Cager as the X and Y receivers inside the 20! Irvin played WR majority of his football career, until he signed with Canes. Some young players takes several years to learn another position. By the way, it took Berios 2 1/2 years and Jackson has surprised everyone at DB. Irvin will make big adjustments and will produce. Irvin will score at least 3-4 TDs. I see the talent, but we need an accurate passing qb.
