I'm not going to shoot down any kid that want's to attend a HBCU because before anything I'm black and I'm not going to buy into the idea that a PWI is better. I love my Canes and I would rather lose those kids to a HBCU than to anyone else. I'm not ever down talking HBCU's and putting limits on what they can do for elite kids if they get them. Every elite kid that has attended UM with all the resources doesn't make the NFL either and the people on this post down talking JSU don't bat a eye at that.
I feel u but I wouldn't even care if there was a Puerto Rican league I would want my elite Ricans to go to UM. That's how my U fan in me is. But that's just me though I root only for UM I don't care about anyone else tbh.

It must be nice to feel free to post these same ridiculous talking points without understanding how these P5 schools acquired their wealth and who founded them. And why HBCU’s were founded and have been historically underfunded. Lots of wishful thinking and assumption of motive. The best players signing with HBCU’s will cure every negative/con that is being used to prove why they shouldn’t attend. Individualism is from your worldview, not everyone’s.

Bad example. There are no PRCUs out there, at least in America, that have deep rooted meaning or tradition so you wouldn’t be able to relate. Can’t miss what you never had. No personal shot but that’s a horrible example. HBCUs were founded because black Americans were not allowed to go to white institutes for higher education.. This is way deeper then UM football.

I get it I don't know all the history I know that's a delicate topic. There is alot of AA on our team though but again I don't know how most feel it's a sensitive topic.....I just don't try and pay attention even though I gig on bama for the KKK **** that's all fun n jokes.....I try not to pay attention to media or all this other **** cause to me it causes division I try to handle things like Morgan Freeman. I just watch my sports play my games and worship cane football. But imma still get on bama for the kkk **** all day.

Your a good poster so wasn’t trying to go on the attack. This is a personal topic for me because I’m 72 years old and when I came out of HS in 1966..I had 3 options..Vietnam, Bethune or FAMU. I went to the Air Force for a few tours then came back to the states and had 2 college options..FAMU and Bethune. Chose FAMU. No other PWI would even give my application a look even though I served. And i wasn’t trying to be “James Meredith” either because I wasn’t going to be non-violent if someone tried some **** with me on a campus where I was the first black student.

Don’t want to derail the thread. Like I said, it’s deeper them UM football for some of us. That’s why when people take shots at HBCUs..I defend them because FAMU saved my life.

As much as I find it hilarious seeing the hypocrisy regarding the outrage of players choosing to go to HBCUs over a D1 school, would I go to a HBCU over a power 5 If I received a full scholarship?… **** no. There are no advantages or perks. Education and networking opportunities aren’t on the same level…. Might have to fight some fraternity clowns (just like at a PWI) or fight some locals hating bc they heauxs choosing. The women look good but smaller schools so you’re passing around the same ones and limited diversity. Aside from that my biggest issue is from a background standpoint they operate like poor PWIs… all beg and answer to the same entities, promote the same agendas and indoctrinated ideologies for crumbs compared to actual PWIs.

antonio doyle. I guess he was a 4* not a 5* although I swear I saw that somewhere, he was the #5 ILB in the class

Hah! I was just speculating about this yesterday when Deion was saying he had two more surprises coming. I was wondering when a big time current starter would use to portal to transfer to Jackson State.

These ****ers are literally going to practice in a lunch pavilion... SMH

Exactly what I thought, that "pavilion" is what my high school used for lunch...IN THE 1980s...

And the portable buildings in the background...most people who went to high school in Florida will remember those buildings. IMPRESSIVE, Coach Prime, all that AFLAC money is being put to good use...

It's going to be a great practice field for punters...

Jackson State is the new U! Much like the early 80s a rising cultural force in the core of Mississippi is threatening to shake up the cfb power structure.

Sorry white privilege: HBCU is coming like Wakanda to claim its empire!
Real talk - everyone realises Wakanda are the bad guys, right?

All that wealth and technology and what do they do? Shut their borders to their poor African neighbours.

I'll be interested to see if they make highlights and headlines on ESPN. Purely to see how it all goes down.

Last guy that happened with on a weekly basis at a lower tier school (higher on the rungs than JSU) were those who went to Marshall. Randy Moss and the two QB's Leftwich and Pennington. Will Hunter it anyone else they sign make the kind of national noise like those guys? Guess we'll see.

Will any of their games be nationally televised?
