Hanging your hat on 10 wins

So many of you are trying to disguise the stench of that **** sandwich we made for ourselves by saying “hey, if I told you we’d win 10 games in the spring….blah, blah, blah”.

I don’t care that we got 10 wins vs 8 or 7 or 9 or whatever. What’s the difference now? A less ****** bowl to watch us underperform in without Cam? Anyone gonna remember it a few seasons from now? You still gonna wear your ‘24 10 wins! Canes Tshirt?

The box score brigade won’t understand this, but how you got the wins matters.

We still lose to teams we shouldn’t. We out-coach nobody. We out scheme nobody. We say we are every teams season so they give their all against us, yet we do that to nobody. This means we still operate below expectations. We never play above our pay grade. We still play stupid, bad penalties, bad errors at awful times, just dumb football. We don’t come in as the underdog and win. We barely scrape by as the favorite, or lose as the favorite. That’s an ugly 10 wins, it’s meaningless and doesn’t feel good.

Well coached teams should get better as the season goes on. We **** our pants. Says a lot.

We had everything in our reach and threw it all away.

This was not a championship team man. Get over it! Even before the season we all knew our secondary was ****. Mario has tried to spell it out for yall in interviews that he believes the roster is nowhere near what it needs to be ala we still have a ton of jags. Also, all around college football teams are losing to teams they shouldn’t lose to. You need to accept that college football has more parity than ever. The only teams that will win championships are teams who are littered with talent on both sides, we are not. This will be proven yet again when Oregon wins the natty.

It’s called underachieving.

It’s not even that. It’s the fact that we know we will never have a qb like this atleast for a long time and that this team was the window. And this defense squandered it. To an extent Mario squandered it although everyone thought Guidry was the guy after last year. But he got exposed and once he did it was curtains. Shame on Billy for getting shut down
