Gus

In Eddie George's freshman and Sophomore years he carried the ball 79 times for 399 yards. He had some skill, but he ran a little high and not behind his pads. Didn't move the pile like you'd think a big kid should.

You can't teach that. Eddie George like Gus is strong but... The size comparison is where i will leave that. U can't teach MEAN. If a kits gets a sholly to D1 getting by on speed and finesse why would he in early adulthood all of a sudden become a wrecking ball. Ya gotta want to punish folks.

Ya got big backs who shake and little backs who bang. He is who he is. No knock. Got skills but can't nann one of us want it for him

How many short yardage situations did he fail to push the pile and convert? More than a few i'd say. One drive vs USF he got stone walled on the goal line on consecutive plays, Coley had to put in Crawford to get the TD.

Gus can be a productive here IMO but he needs to adjust his running style to utilize his size better.

E.G - G. E. I get it . Gus is like Eddie George running backward. Just kidding.

I'm okay with waiting to see how well he takes to coaching.

can we let the young man, go thru a complete training camp without the NCAA pulling him out for weeks!!! Also, we don't need him to be a superstar, we have that in Duke and possibly Yearby. We also have a serviceable runner in Crawford. It's a wonder Al is not looking for another runner.

I think if we can get him to do what wilder did for FSU we should be good. Let's see if they can get him to get his Technics down!! Isn't that part of player development that we want from the staff?

he will split most of the carries this spring with Crawford, where he will work on technical things people are discussing, HUGE BLESSING FOR US. Folks complaining about Duke and Yearby being injured, this is a blessing, those two will be plug and play!!! Yearby should do what Duke did as a freshman, however, without the pressure Duke had, with Mike James as the only other option. I love how this is setting up, especially if he stays healthy. AGAIN, we don't need him to be a superstar, just productive!!

Gus will be just fine... RBs can transition very quick but Gus just needs 1 year to develop... these extra carries in spring will have him up to par... I also think Corn should come over and see how he can help... but didn't he get injured as well at the end of the season?

Boy y'all know y'all can do some whining. U cry babies are ridiculous. Y'all expect EVERY true freshman to put up all world numbers. Relax Gus will be what we need him to be & then some

I think they should pull his scholly. True freshman, didn't win the Heisman or make all American. He's obviously a waste of time.

I thought Gus looked like a solid freshman RB that needed to work on a few things but he definitely has some nice tools. Needs to run more aggressive IMO. Kinda runs like a 220lb scatback.

Should have been shirted but not getting Collins last year took that option off the table.

Was excited when we grabbed him at NSD '13 and was happy to him have some impact in a few days. He could be an extremely important part of Miami offense's ****nal. Get on the Bus!

WHoever says GUs doesn't finish runs and gets extra tough yards needs to pop in the Pitt game and play it over and over if you have to.
Pitt was stacking the box with 8-9 and was still get 3-4+ yards something the Crawford can't do.
Gus is the type of back that gets better the more carries he gets. Definitely exceed my expectations for his True Frosh year.
