Gus Malzahn/ Auburn

All that goes out the window if you go 5-7.

I for one, don't think they will have a pleasant season this year and will struggle to get even 8 wins. We should be all out for Ashley and Brahms regardless.

You have no idea what you're talking about! I agree that Miami should continue to recruit Auburns players. NOTHING is going out of the window! "G" is not losing his job even if Auburn drops 8 games this year.
This guy lmao. Are you the AD at Auburn? President? Even a booster? Come on bro YOU don't know the outcome just like the rest of us so take your "educated guess" because your a 1 in 500,000 alum and kick rocks back to a Auburn board.

I've been around Miami's program since 1986 when they were bringing their basketball program back. Highly recruited by them and many others! Wanna know who I am? All time leading scorer, rebounder, shot blocks at Fort Pierce Central! Played for Johnny Thornton and ALL of my records still stands today! Clown!

Well ****, hey John!

Seems like Gus and Sumlin are the only two coaches of the up tempo spread offense that need a once in a generation type QB for the offense to work. The entire point of the offense is it relies on simple reads, short passes, and the athleticism of the QB, more than his brain, to be successful. The rest of the country just plugs in a QB and puts up points. While Gus is looking for the next Cam Newton to have success.

Nick Marshall was a CB playing QB. Gus did great with him.

His QBs last year were all garbage. They thought Johnson would be awesome but he gagged with the band playing. Franklin sucks too. He can run but is a wretched passer.

Implosion imminent. Couple of bad early losses and he gone.

Might be able to snag Calvin ashley and Nick Brahms after all.

Wishful thinking. As an Auburn Alum, I can tell you Gus isn't going anywhere after this year even if he loses a few games this year. He's stacking some serious chips and he's going to groom a quarterback for next year. Alums and boosters that that call the bag men by their first names are just fine with him losing a few this year. If it happens after next year, he's done. Stick a fork in him.

I'm an Auburn alum as well, and I disagree with you. If AU has the season that I expect them to have, Gus is a goner.

you'll see the SEC start to slide from the top now, while the ACC starts to take over. Look at the coaching upgrades the ACC has gotten and compare it to the list of aging SEC coaches who have already peaked and have no where to go but down.

Do you still wear your high school letterman's jacket....and listen to Glory Days by Springsteen?

No one asked you to come to our board...just leave if you plan on being hateful.

Life's too short to get worked up on a message board.

Gus flops bad this year and yes Auburn will fire him. This program has a history of no patience in the pursuit of trying to be like the real team of the state.

He's not going to lose a "few" games this year, he's going to lose a bunch. The poster was saying he is going to lose a few games early that will be bad loses. But not those will be the only loses.

Woah. This is getting way too scientific for my pretty little head.

If Auburn loses a substantial amount of games, it doesn't matter if they fire "G" or not, they will lose recruits. Kids don't want to play for a loser or a losing team unless they have to. See Miami the last 10 years. Auburn will get Alabama's scraps that Nick don't want. Brahms sister is going to AU so he might be tough to pull, but if AU has a losing record this year, teams will cherry pick the elites from "G" (unless the bagman goes back to Wells Fargo for a second withdrawal).

Fck John. He's a piece of crap who left Florida to go play for those red necks in Alabama as well. Like i said you don't know squat. Your another bullspit know it all who thinks he's special. You chose your side now go back to it. We don't want you here.

Gus is a solid coach. Like every other coach it's win now. He will survive this season. If they lose 8 he'll survive. He has lots of rope. We all know what it's like when the fan base wants a coach gone, but the board, administration and big donors think the coach needs time. I guess we'll all be talking about their possible replacements a few games into the 2017 season. lol fwiw i hope he wins 7/8 and a 9, here and there every year.

I don't know about Gus. Seems like a great OC but not a head guy. Why have we not seen his wife on YouTube in a while? But I am sure we will if they lose 5. With Tom Herman out there every coach needs to be talking to their agent.

Tom Herman may very well want to build the Houston program up. The Houston area is second only to Miami-Dade when it comes to talent. Their is potential there to build a perennial powerhouse. They better hope they never hire Shalala as school president. If you want to win you must stay troll free.

If Gus has a losing record at auburn this year and another high profile coach is in the market for a big time SEC job, he's gone imo. I don't care what big boosters/alums are saying now - everything changes when you're faced with the reality of another losing season with top 5 talent.

The thing with Malzahn is he is the ultimate underdog and his teams seem to perform at their best when there are no expectations -- like the year they should've beat The Rapists for the championship.

Anyway, I truly hope Watson drops 500 yds on them, Kirk returns 4 PR's's, and Fournette clowns that defense more than he did last year. Want Ashley and Brahms.
