Gus...is back on the offical UM roster...

Kid is gonna be solid here but I don't see special, it's more of a reflection of the lack of talent behind Duke. Still kid is gonna end up probably playing heavy minutes his freshman year. Finally gonna have someone on short yard and red zone situations, without having to risk running Duke into the ground. I also expect OT to be a good short yardage guy.

I tend to agree. I will be happy if he develops into a Najeh Davenport type. Not sure how his hands are though.

Poor man's najeh, people took that kid for granted, he was **** **** good. We sometimes forget who else was on the roster at the time. Najeh could have started on most SEC teams, instead he had 3 all pros ahead of him. If Gus is 2/3s najeh that would be awesome.

I don't think Najeh and Gus Bus are anything alike other than their shared proclivity for shytting in hampers. Najeh, prior to his knee, was blazing fast and didn't really relish contact. Gus isn't a blazer, but he will drop a shoulder on you. Gus is much more of a bruiser and a beast while Najeh was more finesse and speed despite being a big dude.

I hope guys ends up like Damien Barry...always falls forward, smashed through blockers. tough runner

Out of all the players I saw around campus and the dorms back in the day, I prob saw Najeh the most. He was just so proportionally bigger than us regular humans. Made me feel like he and a lot of these athletes are like a more physically evolved species.

Honestly, I think the Le'Veon Bell comparisons are spot on. He really looks like a clone of Bell in both stature and running style. I think Gus might have a little bit better long speed while Bell is probably the shiftier of the two. But I really believe that Gus can develop into that type of back for us. I know it's a bit much to expect the kind of production from Gus that MSU got from Bell, but it's hard not to compare the two when their tapes look so **** alike.
