Guidry & This Defense are Awful

There are personnel issues on the defensive side of the ball. Tough to scheme when your whole secondary consists of below-ACC-replacement-level guys.

I think DT is too..."streaky" but our ends are uber elite. Lbs are run stuffing lbs, but we send them up the middle too much rather than overloads or outside blitzed. Dbs are just too **** slow. We traded speed for length and it's not ideal rn.

But, if we had coverage lbs...they could cover more space and put less stress on the safeties have to cover the holes left.

Just my opinion tho. I'm a failed SA.
 
Dline needs to play like they did in last two series all the time! Less blitzing

This defense is average at best and TERRIBLE when forced to contend with “Bad Cam Ward” moments like turnovers and such.

Basically, if our d-line doesn’t create all world havoc in the backfield and make tackles themselves, we are cooked against any average team.

There’s a handful of truly elite level defenders on this team and four of them play on the line and the fifth is your WLB.

Linebacker play in the last two games has been genuinely disappointing and unfortunately unexpected.

The ceiling for this team is ACC Championship and I’m REALLY hoping we reach that.

Guidry needs to tighten it up but another problem is kiko and Powell are limited. Richard and Hill just arent that good. so it's injuries and our best players being the young ones. Our DL will face holding and pushes in the back every game so we have to factor it in.
 
Look I am not going to say this defense is great but let’s take step back from the ledge. They gave up 380 yards on offense. Nearly 200 of those yards came from three plays. We absolutely have to stop with the chunk plays. If we can fix that we will be fine with this offense.
