Pretty sure the slim slim slim chance of still making the playoffs is likely keeping Wario from firing Guidry. As bad as the defense has been, if by some miracle we make the playoffs, it would be even worse if we didn’t have a DC

btw, I told people in dm a few weeks back Mario is unhappy with Guidry as a recruiter too, Cleary this staff has issues closing on defense.

Then why hasn't he been fired already? Makes no sense if he is unhappy with the defense and his recruiting for this guy to still be here

If Giudry is coaching the bowl game, I will have to root for our D to play bad (ie, to play to their norm) so Mario doesn't get manipulated into keeping Giudry. So be it.

Mario isn't firing Guidry until after the bowl game at the very least. Probably right after New Year's is my guess.

Giving a coordinator a chance to leave with some dignity, like after coaching the bowl game where Guidry can make his case for the next job, will help Mario land future coordinators. it’s a good reputation to have when hiring a new coordinator. Which is about every 2 years that a program is hiring a new coordinator. Either because they failed and were fired, or because they exceeded expectations and were hired for a head coach job elsewhere.
