GT admission standards for FB will change

When GT loses, their fans always point to 'tough academics' as the scapegoat.

The problem all along has been Paul Johnson and his stubbornly bad offense. Yes, he got a title in 09 when teams were still trying to figure it out....that ain't happening no more. The blueprint has been laid out and copied.

Even Dorito laughs at the GT triple option. That should tell you something.

I bet that Science, Technology, and Culture degree is a real load.

I almost included that one in my list of easy majors, but it might depend on how much science one really has to understand.

One of my minors for graduate school was the history of science. Basically how science affects paradigm shifts in society.
Sounds similar to that tech major, and I can tell you it is difficult but fascinating.

I'd be curious to know how GT's admissions stack up vs Stanford.

I know that Stanford requires their prospects to be taking Advanced Placement courses as a senior in high school.

Just that requirement alone makes their prospect pool much shallower than anyone else's.

Can you imagine if we required senior AP courses? How many current and past players would we have even recruited?
A dozen in 30 years? Probably less.

As a Tech grad and a lurker on their boards, I can say that this is very much a step in the direction that fans wanted, but it still doesn't solve the problem or even the playing field.

They still can't take a bunch of idiots and someone already pointed out the limited number of majors (however, I find it funny that he thinks Science, Technology and Culture is more difficult than BA and Economics is a walk in the park).

While you may not like CPJ's offense (I sure as **** don't) it does a **** of a job equalizing the playing field and you'll be hard pressed to find a Tech coach that has been as consistent as he has in the last 60 years.

While I'd like to see them play a more interesting brand of football, I can't say there is much more of an argument in firing the guy and anyone who is adamant about it probably hasn't done much research on the topic.

At the poster who thinks that Tech should be having better results with the players they have....you do realize that their best RB was a walk-on, their best WR is a Baseball Player and a walk-on and their best QB couldn't even run their bread and butter.

Tech is a great school but they don't compare to Stanford as far as admissions go, there isn't many schools that do. Problem with tech is they just don't attract the type of player needed to win. You don't see guys hanging out on Boulevard or Carter Street wearing tech gear.

I wouldn't go that far.

If they follow up the academic change with firing Johnson and bringing in a real coach, they would be a legit football contender, especially in the ACC. They sit in a hotbed of talent.

What % of that hotbed of talent do you think wants to take Calculus?

They are not going to fire PJ, at least not now anyway. Dude make way too much money and he has too many years remaining on his contract. However, if he was fired I could see him going to a place like Army.

In terms of talent, the state of Georgia has many FBS prospects. With that said, I could see GT giving PJ at least 2 more years to improve his on-the-field product.

Stanford also hires NFL quality head coaches and assistants.
What they lose in recruiting they easily make up for in coaches & QBs (white QBs)

Here is an prime example ofthe type of recruit Paul Johnson will be going after now and good lord if GT lands this kid, I would like UM to get in on this kid also. GT offered him yesterday. Kid is lightening quick off the snap and strong as OX. But now GaTech can go into Louisiana to those private schools kids who don't have academic problems but were just below Tech's standard's an now offer them.

2015 DT Jozie Milton from Louisiana

This the type of kid UM needs here is quote from him, good lord he is an angry ountry young man.

I like playing on the defensive line because: playing DT is like getting in a fight every play. My dad jokes and says if you want to make your kid tough either name him Sue... Or make him play nose guard!!

The problem with GT is not so much admission standards but the fact that they have VERY few majors that "student" athletes can pass. They are a very specialized school.

They don't offer "rape, murder, steal" degrees like FSwho?

They don't offer championships either

They got more than FSU....

1917, 1928, 1952
gtfoh

a "cane fan" that has a problem with me taking a shot at FSU?....suspect...you got that FSU/UF math going....fyi...4 > 3
