GT admission standards for FB will change

"In a meeting last spring, Johnson asked school president G.P. “Bud” Peterson for help. Peterson, Johnson said, gave him considerable leeway and removed the 20 percent cap. So long as a prospect meets NCAA qualifications and has Johnson’s imprimatur, he can be admitted, Johnson said."

Would that ever happen with Donna?

The most amazing thing about this story is that Johnson still has a job.

Edit: Interesting use of "imprimatur".

They could have said "approval", but this is the ACC.

The problem with GT is not so much admission standards but the fact that they have VERY few majors that "student" athletes can pass. They are a very specialized school.

Agree. They're almost like a private school in how they operate. They weed out bordeline applicants with higher standards. I'm sure their admissions team laugh at borderline student athletes like this...

*Thinking back at how Donna and her crew did some of our recruits in the past*....

I'm confused. Do you mean that the ACC is full of a false sense of higher learning? I say that because that is a strange and probably improper use of the word. It is Latin for let it be published or printed(basically) and nothing is being printed. It is a little like Kelly Bundy using big words. Maybe the writer is a gator; that would explain it.

They don't offer "rape, murder, steal" degrees like FSwho?

It has more than one meaning. "Approval" would have been a better choice, IMO. Maybe they thought it sounded more "academic".

The areas in red seem like possible majors for the mediocre student. Bear in mind that the athletic staffs know how to guide students to courses they can pass.

As I've said a million times, Miami has a limited number of exceptions.

Add another to the list of equal or better academic institutions that have easier standards for their football program.

You have a link? Some actual proof or more internet gospel?

GT still will suck they have....Johnson as the coach.

He runs an out dated offense for the athletes he has available to him in GA and FLA.....

GT is sitting on a team that should compete for acc every year...yet they are scrumbling around....dont know what they were thinking with the Johnson hire....

do these guys not know that Atlanta is a MAJOR destination for most young kids in the south....i chose my college i attended over other mid major schools for the fact that i could live in atlanta...(i played at a HBCU that was div 1aa)
