Seesm avery available body at DT has passed him by on the depth chart.If we do get JC help with this next class why even bring him back next season.

He's a pass rushing DE being asked to play DT in a gap controlling DLine scheme.
They are being told not to pursue(over pursue). They are being asked to maintain gap control and stand ground while opposing QBs have all day to sit there and pick us apart.
But hey, at least opposing QBs maybe might not probably won't be able to scramble on us with. All the gap controlling going on
Meanwhile, Brandon McGee will be a stellar physical CB I the NFL when he doesnt have to play 25 yards off opposing WRs

He is only a sophomore and there are not many great 2nd year DT's.

He's not a DT. Watch his film. He is a pass rushing DE. He is quick......maybe not anymore due to major weight gain.
He should be playing DE. He's going to be useless at DT here

Sorry man but you are wrong on Grimble. I don't think there was one recruiting service, person that thought/thinks he would be an elite pass rushing DE.

He was a 5 star....everybody thought he'd be a solid college DE

You said he was a pass rushing DE which isn't true.
Almost everyone had him as a hybrid DE/DT who would grow into a DT. Plus most that watched his tape/saw him play didn't see the 5* he was given (the reason we "stole" him from USC). In fact, most thought he lacked burst of the line.
Sheit. I would go to Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisana, and Texas for DL.

They don't suck all of the sudden, they're just young, D line benefits a lot from college conditioning, a Senior 3 star is much better than a freshman 5 star simply because they add so much muscle, these guys may weigh a lot but its not muscle

All of a suddenly Golden can't evaluate players?
I thought the kid looked agile and was a ridiculous run stopper pass rusher in Vegas. Sure he played in Nevada. But his size and versatility stood out.
I think he is what Chick is. Not fast and not explosive, but tough and can get the passer along with stuff the run off the edge.
