Greg Bryant?

For real though I gotta wonder how legit our interest is in Bryant. I would certainly take him over a guy like Woodley but I like Chestnut as much as Bryant. Bryant would be a bigger back but like LuCane pointed out I would just rather see us get the best RB available (should say Pete said that).

I know Green says he has interest but I find it hard to believe he ends up here.

I think we end up taking a Juco at that spot. RB/HB 6'2" 230ish type (best guess)
Coaches have zero interest in Chestnut to date.

I'll take Greg Bryant right now. If that's who's going to walk in our door and commit, I'll take him. Hate his running style? This board needs to come up with some more consistency with what they don't like about this kid. It's so all over this place with negativity, there must not be anything good about him. Who are we, with what HS RBs lined up at our door, to be nitpicky.

I'm going to side with BoarCane here. Take Bryant and coach him up.

Concerning recruiting databases, is it the recruiting databases that make their rankings based on the schools/offers a kid has or is it the other way around? Ask yourself that. I still trust the opinions of college recruiting coaches, especially if it's practically a whole conference offering a kid.

I think you're right about the JUCO. Unfortunately with no Collins in this class its bound to be a big disappointment at RB, since I think Green is probably a long shot too. I said after Howard last year I wouldn't doubt this staff though so we will see.

I think a lot of it stems from people (me included) that don't think he deserved his initial superstar ranking. Its not that he can't or won't be a productive back, maybe even really good.

I will defer to Golden if he wants him though.

I don't think you put up the production that Bryant has at his level of competition if you're not a quality running back. He seems to have really good vision, good enough burst, and good speed. His balance is good too. Runningback is all about 1. vision 2. balance 3. agility. I don't see any of those lacking in Bryant.

Speed and power are nice to haves, but they don't mean a **** thing if you hit the wrong hole or lose your balance while trying to cut or taking contact.

LULZ. As long as that call is : "sign him up!" then I will agree with it.

We need RB's on this team though. I'm not too big on Bryant but I'm not too big on our roster outside of Duke so we need a lot of help there.

I like runners that have an explosive first step and hits the hole hard. We need backs that run angry and ****ed off. guys with speed. This guy's cute tippy toe running style is not going to get it done at the college level imo. Not only that, but the guy lacks speed. I can see him getting stuffed repeatedly at the LOS.

Bryant looks like a slower Jerome Bettis against his competition level. Kids not cuttin it.
