Green Helmets

Green and orange both are dope. In my opinion, the only other uni as cool as our new ones are Oregon. This will help attract a lot more top kids to our program. Doesn't matter if some of the fan base doesn't like them. The players love them and they are the ones that are gonna be wearing them.
 
Its going to be horrific having to watch them wearing that green or orange ****.

U are acting like we won't wear the original ones. Plus we haven't even seen them in live action so you really don't know how they will look yet.
 
I don't care if they wear wife beaters over the top of their pads with hand written numbers on them...just look like the hot d&mn Miami Hurricanes.

No we won't. It was widely reported that the green helmets will not be used. Only a couple were made for marketing, but UM settled on the other colors to be included in our uniform combonation.

I don't see why we would be putting all of the decals on the "for show" helmet if they're not ever going to be used. We're seeing it WAY too much in photos for it to just be for marketing.

I do agree that initially the powers that be wanted to only use the old White/new White/new Orange helmets on gamedays...but if recruits and players are pushing for the Green helmet...guess what? We'll probably try to mix it into the rotation. We'll find a way.

I actually am not so high on the green helmets thing. First off, it's the wrong green IMO. But, if my team stomped asses on the field (the lat 60's and early 70's teams were bad but physical as ****, beat teams up), had heart in being so, were creatively and capably prepared, or even better WON games and died trying - I wouldn't care what they were wearing so much, either.

This is what I gathered from what I read. It was originally something Nike came up with, then they changed their minds. After everyone (recruits, fans, board members, staff) saw the green helmet more, it was said that they wanted to include it in the mix.
