I could not be more happy to see UM finally adding sports programs again. Yes, I'm still ****ed at Dave Maggard for dumping Men's Golf and Swimming.

For added context, he started up a softball team at Clemson 2 years ago. He hired a coach who’d had success at Stanford.

Their first season was cut short by Covid.

In their second season, they won the ACC, hosted a regional, and finished ranked #18 in the country.

We should absolutely have a softball team and golf for both men and women.

Be thankful to have Radakovich during these turbulent NIL times. He's got the experience, intelligence, savvy, and connections to steer a full athletic program through it. And, he will be overseeing people who will learn from him, and have better preparation when the time comes for him to step away.

I've got a 5'10" 12 year old who wants this more than me to happen before her senior year.

Grew up in PA where wrestling was big. It is on life support nationwide.

It should be every OL, LB, and DL's winter sport.

Women's softball should be **** good if they get support behind it. Plenty of talent in the state for sure.

Title 9 always prevented it, because football takes up so many spots for men. But yeah if we add softball, I think we will be able to add a men’s sport too.

School could probably do quite well with fastpitch. They would be able to host lots of winter camps and would be a prime location.

Would be able to add scholarships for an additional men's sport as well.

******* Kenzietron will be there for sure. She has so much power and arm strength for a 12 yearl old.

Issue for softball is they have ~25 women and only 12 scholarships. So you're competing vs Florida, FSU, UCF who can offer you a 1/2 + your pre-paid and bright futures, and other scholarship money.

Of the top25 + the teams receiving votes (37 schools) only four are private (Duke, Liberty / ND, Stanford).

It's 9.9 scholarships for men's soccer. 4.5 for men's golf. So adding those 2 vs softball gets you close.

I'd love to see softball at Miami but it'd be a much different battle than at Clemson
