awful news. brilliant, creative filmmaker. mulholland drive is a gem
One of my favorite directors, even though it took me several tries to get though "Inland Empire."

Mulholland Drive was indeed a gem. Blue Velvet was a winner on many counts. My fave scene was Dean Stockwell lip-synching to the Roy Orbison song "In Dreams", singing into an industrial work light, with Dennis Hopper reacting in a way only he could (throughout the short video but espec around 1:13 in the clip below).

Sorry I’m responding to this so late, but Lynch is right up there with Aronofsky and Kubrick as my favorite directors of all-time. Lost Highway is still one of the best films ever made…
