It's funny to me that posters here praise Golden for his recruiting and bash him for his game day coaching. Sounds pretty familiar to me. Been through this before and I'll take the results - if they're anything close to what Butch accomplished - I'll be thrilled.

At this point, with the team unranked and finishing the season 9-3, I don't think it's unreasonable to pause and recognize that while its not there yet, progress is being made over the dumpster fire that Randy left.
 
progress has been made. we have a tougher schedule than loserville who people praise. our florida lose wasnt easy, they had all their guys healthy.

it was funny when the broadcasters said "remember when miami fans where flyers "Fire Butch" banners"
 
I was at the game - didn't hear them. But it really is getting comical - I remember on Grassy people calling for Butch's head and they didn't even know what They had.....+ how mercilessly they bashed Dorsey....and they didn't even know what hey had.

I suppose my point is, while the current situation needs fixing.....it's moving in the right direction and SOME MIAMI FANS WILL ***** no matter what.

Al Golden failed this year, and if Miami doesnt win the Coastal next year and have a legit shot at winning the ACC, then he should be FIRED..... THE END.

I agree Zone. But still the childish ****** "Goldorito" **** is the gayest thing I've ever heard in my life.

This is pretty much where I am at as well. Helps we play in a dog**** conference division too.

See here's the thing - Al Golden is doing what fans have been screaming about for years i.e. improving the U brand and locking down SoFl. He's made huge strides in both of those areas.

If he continues to recruit like he has then we'll be back. If you take the best talent in SoFl and put it together on one team you're going to have a juggernaut.

As for being a poor gameday coach - I just don't see it. He's in charge of time outs, going for it on 4th down etc. He makes smart, sensible decisions most of the time. Sure he could be a little more aggressive, but it's his job on the line, not yours. He clearly hands over the reigns of the O and the D to his coordinators, so he can't be blamed for their shortcomings.

His only fault, so far, is retaining the services of his best man who is clearly in over his head. That could be his downfall unfortunately.

I dont get you guys complaining about the teams that we beat records. You guys do realize when we won the national championship in 01 we played against ****** teams in the BIG EAST!!! I mean get over it just win the games. I dont care if those teams go 1-10 after we beat them who cares, just get the W!!!!

Even though I had that same feeling I had with Shannon, only hope I have we have some studs coming in soon that should have. also, no way Shannon's OC would have called the game the way Coley did yesterday. If we run that against Duke we win that game, in spite of the crap we have on defense.
