Golden's End Of The Year Presser, Some Notes

Sure talent has spread but it's still the most concentrated in South Florida.

Golden realizes what he has here, and I don't see him leaving it for anywhere else.

Listening to GOlden Speak gets me so jacked up. I can't imagine his players not wanting to run through walls for the guy. We are going to straight murder people here soon boys and girls.

When Golden was hired, I spoke with a friend of mine who is a long time professor at the U. She is also very involved in athletics there.

She said that as Golden's wife was driving across the Rickenbacker Causeway to look at houses, she called Al and said, "I love it here, don't **** this up".

She lives in Paradise, of course she loves it. Mrs. Golden appears to be a real hellcat. I doubt some small college town in the middle of nowhere can contain her.
 
It's funny because the context of our conversation was the Shapiro scandal that had just been reported. I, along with everyone, was very concerned that Golden would leave.

After she shared that anecdote, I felt much better.

And believe me, my friend is not prone to exaggeration or hyperbole.

If we don't have the best group of receivers top to bottom in the country next year, I'd like to see who's got better. The depth is disgusting. Olsen is doing backflips in his dreams as to what he's going to step into in 2014.

Miami has always broken out the checkbook. I seem to recall Coker was the highest paid HC on CFB when he prematurely signed the contract that gave us Randy Shannon. The myth that Miami doesn't pay their coaches is just that, myth...

Golden's contract includes incentives and additional compensation for reaching defined goals. He will definitely be paid well, although certain other schools will still pay more for the most sought after coaches.

This, how many games do we win this year if our defense could have atleast been in top 50? We have to get better there and I think we will.

Yep, we desperately need an instant impact Juco kid on the DL, maybe 2 and we need a kid like McCord to make a big step up next year. Keeping Porter around and healthy is also key.

I agree. McCord will be much better next year. But it will take 2 years to physically develop him to the point that he becomes a nightmare. I think he has that potential.
