Golden said one smart thing and one dumb thing....

Our defensive tackle rotation is bad because we have too many youngsters = kick off veterans to make room for more youngsters. GOAT post.

lol. This post is retarded on every level.

Our DT rotation is bad because our upperclassmen who should be garnering the most minutes stink, are made of glass, or cant do what D onofrio wants them to do.

Yet we have geniuses who want to KEEP ALL OF THESE UNDERPERFORMERS around for 2-3 more years while we get obliterated with schollie reductions. Instead of say, making room so we can find someone YOUNGER with MORE talent and MORE time, who will BE AROUND TO PICK UP THE SLACK when we are knee deep in sanctions. lol.

idk what games your watching but DL is way more a concern than Oline and on top of that 5/6 starting caliber oline will be coming back

Why are people so ready to throw Grimble away? The guy is only a redshirt freshman and defensive tackle is one of the toughest positions to be successful at early. Was he overhyped coming out of high school? Probably, but that doesn't mean he'll never be a solid contributor.

I think he's a SO who played a decent amount last year and has a significant experience advantage over the FR. Yet, he has consistently remained a second, third or fourth teamer who cant consistently get ahead of these same FR and is now behind THREE of them. Sure, the depth charts are always fluid but contrast him with Pierre who has been named a starter in several depth charts already this year and came in at the same time as Grimble. No one is saying he SHOULD be let go, but he should definitely be considered a CANDIDATE to be let go pending future developments (will he step up? will the FR continue to consistently overtake him?)

Okay he is a sophomore, but he only appeared in 7 games last year for minimal snaps or garbage time. He was definitely not physically prepared for those snaps anyway. This is his first year of good playing time and IMO he still isn't physically ready. If he can't crack the rotation next year, you might have a point, but I'm not giving up on a guy who's been forced to play when he isn't physically ready in only two years.

I just hope the sanctions are only 2 years or less and less than 5 scholly's a year. I highly doubt they let us off easy im expecting four because thats been our luck and the NCAA hates UM. If we get four it will take along time to be great even for AG and this staff.

At hurricane club meeting back in May in Atlanta. He said he wanted to be 80 scholarships prepare for sanctions.

spiderman my body is ready.webp

Why would Golden say a bigger number.... so he could start getting asked who's getting kicked off once people do the math? To alleviate any leverage he might have in getting kids to "commit or lose their spot"?

Exactly.

Can't really hate on Robinson too bad. Dude played well when he avoided his blocker ("The Anti D'Oh") scheme in the BC game. Caused a nice fumble IIRC. He got into it with the staff for not following the gameplan during that game. Not gonna knock the kid for balling out incorrectly. By those standards Howard will be gone too.

i think it will b more than 16...even tho he's sayin it...political answer

just by da fact he's sayin he wants 3/4 OL is indication class will b bigger than 16...

Even if only 16-17 are brought in on scholly this year. Remember, the staff can always back count the remaining schollys so long as the 2014 kids that use those 8-9 back counted schollys come in as early enrollees. Say 17 are signed this year for the 2013 class. You still have "8 left over scholarships" that can be back counted towards the 2014 class. By that time I am sure the NCAA will have handed down whatever the sanctions will be(I.e. Lost scholarships and possibly another bowl ban). Kids getting recruited for 2014 will know what Miamis sanctions are and other schools that negative recruit won't be able to make things up as everything will be set in stone by then. Signing a small class this year is probably a pretty good move by the Miami staff, and I am sure they know what they want. For 2014 depending on scholarships lost, Miami could bring in another 30 man class. USC is doing something like this right now. They back count 3 scholarships every year, so they are able to sign an 18 man class instead of the 15 handed down by the NCAA. Miami coaches know what they are doing.
