Golden on QAM yesterday

Losing that weight won't mean that he miraculously becomes a quick-twitch DE that can rush off the edge. The guy is better suited inside the OTs in a 3-4. I'm betting we will see a lot more of that in the near future, with McCord, Bond and Hoilett as our edge rushers (I think AQM has the highest upside of any of our DEs minus McCord, but I want it to get back to the point of having the luxury of players developing over the course of the year and their time in college, instead of throwing them into the fire).

Some things I heard that weren't mentioned

Listed some weights right now-

Chickillo up to 270 (So much for losing weight)
McCord in 230s
Hamilton 277

Talked about DT and how "kids can qualify late, there could be JUCO kids still available"

Kamalu was mentioned as a defensive end.

I just don't like chick at 270. He was slow last year. He would better for us at the 245-255 range.

JHC he's listed at 236 on the UM site. His game - as you know - is based off explosiveness and speed, so I think he'll be fine where he is or perhaps a few pounds heavier. He'll probably still be a situational pass rusher. Looking at Chicks size do you think he moves inside or no?

McCord is really going to start being a terror when he approaches 250. 230's is still light for a kid with his build.

Agreed, he would still be a better add at the lower weight at DE. As already noted he doesn't have the build for a DT.

he also, was smiling ear to ear (you could hear it in his voice), describing how the bodies of his young dline were changing for the better. Can't wait to go to Miami next month!

I too want McCord around 250.

Jermaine Cunningham is an example of a guy with a 6' 2'', 6' 3'', 210 Lb frame out of high school who was able to get to 250 and be a terror off the edge for Florida.
