Golden hot seat?

No, not yet anyway. It's impossible to know the true feelings of the program, from the inside, due to the NCAA mess.
If they can win the last two and a bowl, this will all simply fade away, to an extent, I do anticipate some change on defense, either staff or scheme.
The biggest problem IMO, is that I really think the team has checked out, one of the talking heads nailed it "they're fragile" mentally.
Never did I expect Miami to have a QB throw for 300+, and a back run for 100+, and still lose.
Sad part is I now feel no better about the program than I did when RS was the coach, what do we have to show for the last three years?

We recruited much better than duke despite the NCAA mess. We get out coached week in and week out

The University, after this last mess, looks at this differently then the fan base. IMO Golden is secure for the time being, hopefully he sees the multitude of flaws with the team, his staff and himself and is a good enough CEO to right the ship. The part of the team quitting shocks the conscience and the coaches and players need a gut check.

Coach Golden himself is not on the hot seat, nor should he be. He's done everything extremely well since taking this job. That said, Im fairly certain that some of his assistants will be feeling some warmth beneath their hind parts come monday.

what has he done extremely well?
he has recruited extremely well under the CIRCUMSTANCES (hate that word) thats about as much as i can say

He has only recruited well on offense.

Look at our defense and the lack of talent. He's had 3 recruiting classes and has yet to bring in a legit DT or another legit LB alongside Perryman.

I don't understand the team quitting talk.

A team that works and sweats together may dislike or mistrust the coaches but the bottom line is they play for each other.
You don't go on the field and half *** your job.
You don't take a chance on getting a team mate hurt.
You don't want to be the guy that everyone on campus is pointing his finger at.
You don't want to be crossed off the pro scouting list if you have NFL hopes.
Not as long as one player is giving his all.
Was there a team meeting about quitting the season. Formally or informally.
If a player is going to quit it shows up in practice and the coaches have to see it and move that player down the depth chart.

Our 2001 team didn't even need a coach.
So please stop.

Did I miss the sarcasm?

Golden is broken right now, you can see the transformation in body language. He doesn't even believe in the words he is spewing, he looked down during the entire postgame.

Golden has damaged himself because no one believes DC is still here for any reason other than he was best man at Al's wedding. To save him, Al is taking all the blame. It is his defense and perhaps he deserves the blame but he is burning his rope faster by insisting on it. Nobody is going to bye this defense because it fails the eye test. Even my wife wonders why the LBs and CBs line up so far away from the line and she only watched the old teams to see them dance after plays. But she was a high school cheerleader and apparently knows more about defense than our coaches.

Only fools do not see that Al has vastly improved our situation by restoring the relationships with most of the local high schools instead just focusing on a couple favorites. He pulled in 2 top 15 classes and has a top 5 in the works. The staff has several excellent recruiters, all of whom must be kept because recruiting is essential. However, the two coaches most people think suck also happen to be the worst recruiters. If Al truly believes his defense will win a NC here, then he has to sacrifice Mark and Franklin to bye himself enough time. Or he has to throw away HIS defense and learn a new one that gets results fast. We might not be done with Al, but we sure as heck are done with his defense.

So would you prefer to characterize it as "not showing up"?
