Golden has been here how long??

Youre trolling right?
At first I was like he has to be but then I thought Ryan Williams couldn't beat out Stephen Morris last season nor do I think there was ever a competition. So why is Williams all of a sudden so good in his 5th year? Then I thought he could've recruited a QB in the 2012 class and he signed 3 but 2 are not on the team and 1 supposedly is a bust. Then I thought he recruited an All-American last year that redshirted but apparently he's not ready.

but to be fair to Al Golden....Butch Davis was not gonna start Ken Dorsey over Kenny Kelly, the only way he beat out Kenny Kelly was when coach gave him an ultimatum to quit baseball or focus on football. Kenny Kelly kept playing baseball and the rest is history. I still remember feeling good those last three games in '99 when they shallacked Rutgers 55-0, Syracuse 45-13, Temple 55-0.....then Ga Tech 28-13. Butch had a blind loyalty to the older players also, but not to a fault because he was playing Clinton Portis when all he used to do was fumble as a freshman.

Ryan Williams was a 4th year player though.

Good point...but what I am saying is as far as the QB position goes, there is no such thing as the best player plays. I know I'm not rattling of biochemistry here but I know it will be Jake Heaps this year, Ryan Williams next year, Gray Crow the year after that, then perhaps Kevin Olsen (not sure if he will be 5th year then) and so on.

Amazing. :ohlord:

I'd say the fact that he/the staff hasn't developed a player in 3+ years is more concerning. Please don't bring up " but the cloud" or "those were Shannon's leftovers". A good coach/coaching staff should be able to bring out the best in a player(s).

No chance Crow ever starts here unless everyone else is injured. I've gotta give him credit though, he's stuck around when most would've bolted by now. To me, that suggests he realizes his future is whatever degree he is pursuing.

This is the most terrible time of year! Trolls will be trolling all over the board, it's the most terrible time of year.
