Gilbert Should Be Starting

Correct me if Im wrong but isn't David Gilbert the only All-League D lineman on our roster???

Yes. He is.

But no. He shouldn't start in this defense bc his talents don't really fit our scheme.
Gilbert is a 4-3 DE and we don't have the talent to run a 4-3
So we have to run a 3-4; therefore, Gilbert's talents don't fit

And? That was also before he quit football because of his chronic injuries to his foot. Think about that. This guy's injury issue was so bad, that he QUIT the game, despite his accolades playing at Wisky.

And for the 15th time. If you compare his stats his last "great" season at Wisky, and Shayon Green's stats this year, they are almost identical. So by what objective criteria can ANYONE honestly be saying that Gilbert should be starting over Shayon? Thats to say NOTHING of the fact that Gilbert just got here, and is not that familiar with our system, nor has he played in a 3-4. He played in a 4-3 at Wisky.

There is plenty of sh*t to bag on Donofrio for, but this one simply has no credibility IMO.

Dude he's the answer to everything. If only we had been starting Gilbert, we would have shut down VT and Duke. He would have 65 sacks by now. Just more examples of how stupid our coaches are, who cares what they see in practice, what they really need to do is listen to guys posting on a message board, I mean, the guy was a good player at Wisconsin, last year, so we know all we need to know.

Didn't you know? The coaching staff is purposefully playing guys who aren't as good as their backups. Kirby, Grace, Carter, etc are clearly better, but they play the guys who don't give them the best chance to win. Makes perfect sense.
