Gattis has a more boring offense but it does give defenses more to think about and defend.

So why force running something you don’t have the horses to run. Once you get your players in 2 years start running the way you want it. Until then, adapt to your personnel.

agreed but if hes struggling with grasping the offense, its not gonna happen overnight and it'll cost you games. someone said Steele had to dumb it down for the defense early on. maybe time for gattis to do the same for TVD and the offense or use plays that can get him into a early rhythm.

That gets you first downs and moves the chains. When your qb is off we need a reliable ground game to move the chains until your qb gets in rhythm. Last year on offense we were a one trick pony. Still have visions of getting our face pushed by in on those inside zone run plays last year.

Don’t know. Aside from sacks which counts negatively towards run yards 3.8 ypc average can move the chains at least keep the offense churning and defense some rest. That was an issue last year with too many 3 and outs.

I think it may have been 4.5? but thats also against a far inferior defense (talent and otherwise). I dont think we get that pop against better talent w this current roster makeup. I could be wrong though. I think we need to be more balanced and get more diverse in the pass game. also some quicker pace would be nice. you dont need to be full Rhett but gotta be faster than this

I’d like to see the pace pick up as well. I would also like to see more deep shots. But the run game is refreshing. You can just see in the 2nd half when we just imposed our will and ran it down their throats psychologically whatever momentum they had just fizzled out.

There’s another problem as well. Gattis is probably here for one year. Who’s going to replace him. Same offense philosophy?

I did. And, it's not realistic to expect our current crop of RBs to consistently pop 20+ yarders. They grind out yards beautifully. Parrish's vision in and through the hole is A+. But, you can't ask him to be something he is not. Same with Thad. Knighton has more homerun speed, but then you likely have to run more zone blocking. I'm sure they realize all of this. Let's see if adjustments are made.

I'm just pleasantly surprised our receivers are catching the ball right now. May what we heard about all the drops in the camps plus two cupcakes had him a bit nervous to air it out and in favor went very ground & pound. Either way to beat better teams we're gonna have to pass roughly 2/3 of the game.
