Clarification added to the Stone post in bold (based on feedback from the Stone thread)

David Stone

  • The ONE consistent in this recruitment was Miami and not OK
  • MSU faded away
  • Oklahoma (Family has concerns with OK)
  • Could be committing in July

Summary of key points I heard in the LWS recruiting space w/ @Geo305

6 OVs this weekend

Justin Scott

  • Miami pushing hard for a committment this weekend
  • Miami very much out front in this recruitment

Kevin Riley

  • #1 Target for Miami at RB
  • Miami pulling out front
  • Alabama here and there recruiting him, Miami doing the best job recruiting him
  • Could commit this weekend
  • Miami likes Riley more than Gibson

Dakota Fields

  • Comitted to USC
  • Not visiting

Jericho Johnson

  • Plan was for OV this week
  • Haven't heard anything about rescheduling
  • WA done a great job here
  • USC another leader

Elias Rudolph

  • Likely to go back to Ohio for senior year
  • Michigan & O$U done great job recruiting

Jayden Jackson

  • Miami done a great job w/him
  • Recruiting sites waking up to him, now a 4*
  • Huge that he's coming
  • Don't expect a commitment this weekend
  • Taking all his OVs

Head to Head w/UT

  • Elija Lofton had planned to visit UT this weekend (Canes won this battle)
  • He never came back to this topic, went into West Coast recruits and I think forgot to come back to it

West Coast Recruits

  • Commitment is huge, Elija part of West Coast visitors group. Dylan Williams, Papa Afua, Brandon Baker, TA Cunninngham, Aylen Breland all going to be impacted by this commit
  • All part of a group that visited schools together
  • Miami is going to get the BULK of their elite recruits from the West Coast. Keep an eye on them

Plaz

  • Miami likes him a lot
  • Miami felt good until he shockingly committed to P$U
  • He is #2 option behind Baker

Schmo

  • Only other OV is Pitt
  • Miami likes as a developmental OT

OTs

  • OT class this year is weak
  • Brandon Baker may be an OG
  • Liam Andrews Miami still working
  • He's hearing that Samson and Francis may be hurting the OT recruiting

Breland

  • Loves Miami ever since original visit
  • Miami in a very, very, very good spot.
  • Came down w/CA visitors
  • Attended Pitt basketball game, said it would be hard for a school to match
  • Predicts that he will commit to Miami

  • Miami wants him to camp and is very interested
  • Really loves Miami

Colin Simmons

  • Doesn't think Miami is in the lead here
  • Taking a lot of visits. This will be a marathon

Dylan Stewart

  • Miami is in a real good spot here

David Stone

  • Was strongly considering reclassifying. That's not happening now.
  • The ONE consistent in this recruitment was Miami and not OK
  • MSU faded away
  • Oklahoma (Family has concerns with OK)
  • Could be committing in July

Chance Robinson

  • Will take OVs
  • Not worried, expects him to pick Miami

Laulea

  • Visit went well, no imminent decision
  • Very helpful that Freeney is a Cane
  • USC involved here along w/P$U

Trever Jackson

  • Agrees w/Gaby, doesn't have an offer
  • Miami in communication w/him

Ellis Robison IV

  • Still solid UGA, not flipping immediately
  • Season could change things

Jaylen Heyward

  • Miami recruiting as a CB

Class

  • Could be better than last year, but dependent on the season
  • Offensive players are bonding with Dawson (including TVD)
  • Could land more than 2 5* this year
  • Good position with FIVE 5*s: Trader, Stewart, Scott, Breland (but he only named these four)

Predicted DL

  • Dylan Russell stands out, his motor is tremendous
  • Grown a LOT since last season. Now at least 6'3"
  • Scott, Breland, Steward, Jackson (good spot)
  • Lightfoot trending away
  • Stone not yet a lock for Miami or OK
  • Things have cooled down with Booker Picket Jr, lot of DLs being recruited right now

IMG Pipeline

  • Jackson (good spot)
  • Gibson (decent shot)
  • Stone (good chance)
  • Robinson (in the battle)
  • Hawkins (still being recruited)
  • TJ Lindsey (hard to get a read on the current situation, no info on where he's leaning)

LJ Mcray

  • Recruitment is going into the season
  • Bunch of OVs scheduled
  • Not heard anything positive (could be good, could be bad)
  • Very underrated

Staley

  • Clemson tight w/WR numbers, may not take him
  • Miami/UT battle here

Flowers

  • Miami still likes him
  • Couple guys ahead (Cole and Nesta)

Nesta
  • Wants to play baseball, coaching hire will play a role

Barney

  • Also an impact corner, really stands out (even with Washington twins on the team)
  • Miami still evaluating, could be a late bloomer
  • Lot of big programs could get involved
  • Says Miami should look at him as a DB, can really run

Tremble

  • Miami involved w/a LOT of TEs
  • Expects Miami to get involved with this recruitment
  • Miami going after TEs some commited elsewhere (Matthews, Hansen, Galloway, Jackson, Odom)
  • Take two blue chips each year

Kam Franklin
  • UT/Miami battle

Ryan Wingo

  • Still recruiting, still pushing for OV, not out in front.
  • Longshot here

Gibson
  • Very coy in what he tells the media

Valentine

  • Option behind Riley and Gibson

Jeremiah Smith

  • Geo thinks Miami should push for a multi-day OV even if its delayed
  • As of today, thinks he signs w/ O$U

Artavius Jones

  • Miami his favorite school growing up
  • Miami likes him a LOT as a run stopping DT
  • Miami will to take him

Brandon Baker

  • VERY close with Elija Lofton, that could play a role in his recruitment
  • Miami very much alive in this recruitment

I'm still listening so this OP could be changed if I hear anything else interesting

Excellent write-up, really appreciate.

Great update thanks...

A couple things caught my attention.

- I agree on Riley over Gibson. Like em both, edge Riley.

- TK Cunningham…Interesting he's not a take just yet. I think he will be. I just figured UM had something to do with the transfer to Central? How'd he end up there if we aren't taking him? Family?

- The Russell 6'3 stuff is interesting…Some are saying that just isn't true?

- I like Nesta…But I think him over Flowers is a mistake. I also worry about the P5 pitcher/LB combination…May run into some trouble there, jmo.

- Barney….I would have taken yesterday. I don't understand the whole "late bloomer" thing. Tape looks pretty good and the track times have been there?

- Glad to hear on Brandon Baker…Would be huge get.

Brandon Baker is very very close to a 5 star rating. Would be a monster addition to this class ... talk about backing up quality OL.
