Georgia's mediocrity is so predictable

Georgia may be notorious for not living up to expectations, but that does not equate to mediocrity.

That was a great game last night, a fantastic prime time match-up to kick off the season. To go into a very hostile environment, play the way they did against a top ten team, and come up short by a botched field goal, is decidedly not mediocre.

You might want to ask yourself this: if UM and the Gators play the identical game that GA/Clemson did last night with the same final score, would you call the losing team - whether UM or Fla - mediocre? I wouldn't.

My wife is a huge UGA fan and she was complaining about them having to play true freshmen at DB. I told her welcome to my world watching Miami last year. The real problem for UGA was their OL getting dominated most of the night by Clemson's DL. They collapsed the pocket all night long.

Same thing happened with Alabama's OL. How did LSU look last night on the DL? Will they be good enough to do what VT did to Bama's OL.

I wish we had 'Georgia's mediocrity' for the past 8 years or so.

No different than ours. NO NCs for either. NCs are all that matters. Playing for them counts if you win some as well as lose some. If you aint the lead dog the view never changes. UGA ranks as biggest "can't make the big time" of them all. Bama is the only team for a Cane to envy. And you need to hate doing it!

Right.

Said it all along. Just assumed Dabo and Clemson would choke as usual.

UGA's QB sucks. Way over rated

Great for Canes fans, Richt will be 0-2 or even 0-3, and only the Gatas game can save him.

I have similar thoughts on USCe. It all falls back to SEC bias and preseason rankings. Alabama is the only one who deserves to be seen as elite in that conference imo

I slightly agree. I believe once they get to mid-season form, they'll be deserving of their ranking. Almost every team in this country should incredible rust, for haven't played a game in 9 months or more.

That's why I give our offense and defense the benefit of the doubt. Elite players like Duke Johnson, Todd Gurley, Sammy Watkins and Marquise Lee, are always ready to go and don't need much warming up. Everybody else needs at least a game or two to rock and roll.

I wouldn't say every team "showed incredible rust."
Georgia Tech beat some team named Elon, from one of the outer moons of Saturn 77-0.
Wake Forest beat up a church.
