Georgia Tech Game

60k are ticket sales. That crowd was bad and it wasn’t even close to 60k.

Stadium looks empty because it’s usually empty. Some of those things are valid points but reality is when it’s full, we don’t see those things.

Look, my season tickets are in Section 119. Because a friend of mine from UM wanted to take his kids to their very first game, I let him have my tickets, and I bought the very LAST ticket in Section 119 from the PRIMARY ticket selling website.

But sections 117, 118, and 119 have a club area down below the stadium. And for a noon game, the sun was shining directly on us (when there wasn't any cloud cover).

At certain times during the game, it looked like there were a bunch of empty seats in Sections 117-119, but i guarantee you there were a ton of people down in the club.

So...I don't know...it's misleading sometimes.

Also, they need to cut the section set aside for the marching band in half. That **** REALLY looks terrible on TV. I love The Band of the Hour, but we need to sell those empty seats.

They can put the band in same section they put away bands in, much smaller and our band is usually a qtr of away side.. I dont understand that and have stated the same, they give the band a section and each member has 5 seats to themselves for their equipment, phone, purse/bag, etc.

I mentioned didn’t know butts in seats number.

Watch this whole clip. Especially the end home side upper deck. I wasn’t there. But late 4th quarter, that’s a very respectable noon crowd.

Anyway few days out but weather completely flipped and looking like a washout, hasnt rained in the A in like 2 months but now expecting rain, I guess there is a storm or something (my people telling me LSU/bama game gonna be a washout or tropical storm also).. Thank gawd its day time, I dont want to be in 40 degree rain at night freezing *** off..

Why we dont play in dome like ND?! lol..

I'm just glad to be watching games on ABC and ESPN again.

I was there. Just saying. Home side is always fuller side.

50k? I’m not arguing. Asking. The dang seats & walls all blend together and I never know when our fanbase is out getting beer or not even in the stadium. Lol

Anything going on Friday night

Sooooo...the main event going on Friday night is at "The Battery". The link is below.

Overall, "The Battery" is a retail/dining/entertainment district between the outfield of the Braves baseball stadium and US 41. The specific bar where the event will be is known as The Battery Live! (and, yes, the exclamation point is mandatory, I worked with the same developer when we were trying to build a similar facility at Daytona International Speedway, and when we had a falling-out, we could no longer use the word "Live!").

I am providing the map below. The Battery is right by where I-75 and I-285 meet on the northwest side of Atlanta. If you are staying in Midtown, just drive north on 75. I work on the opposite side of 285, so I may just walk over. Parking is FREE for the first two hours, and then is a flat rate of $20 after that. I usually park in the Red lot (circled), but there are a couple of other garages scattered around. I have circled The Battery Live! and marked it as TBL (duh), it is literally one of the closest spots to the outfield gate where you go into Braves games.

If you want to make it an evening, there are quite a few good spots at The Battery, I will give my personal favorites.

1. Fox Bros. BBQ (inside of Terrapin Taproom, trust me, you can order Fox Bros) - this is my personal favorite Atlanta-based BBQ joint (the original one is over by Krog Street Market).
2. Antico Pizza - this is my personal favorite Atlanta-based pizza joint (the original one is over by GaTech).
3. Superica - this is my personal favorite Atlanta-based Tex-Mex, it is a Ford Fry restaurant, and I have no idea where the original location is.
4. C. Ellet's Steakhouse - I've only been once, on expense account, when my office went prior to a Braves game, but it is good.
5. H&F Burger - a burger joint from the Holeman & Finch steakhouse group, I love this spot, I went to the one in Ponce City Market after the LAST GaTech game with a certain other poster on this board.
6. EATaliano Kitchen - kinda self-explanatory, you eat Italian food here, great spot.
7. El Super Pan Latino Kitchen & Bar - again, very self-explanatory, but if you are having Cuban sandwich withdrawal, this is a great spot.
8. Punch Bowl. Social - I was just there last Friday before I flew to Miami, it's mostly a bar, it's a really fun spot, but the food was surprisingly good. I got some takeout for my wife, and she loved it.
9. Wahlburgers - I order this all the time on GrubHub. I've only been inside once, with KPMG, it's fine.
10. YardHouse - Darden restaurant, it's fine, you've seen this before.

There are a few more spots, but these are the ones to focus on.

Anything going on Friday night

If people are NOT interested in The Battery, and you do NOT want to go to hotspots like Ponce City Market, Krog Street Market, or West End Provisions/InterLock, then I cannot recommend this place any more positively:

Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall (and the adjoining speakeasy called The Ranger Station).

Just...TRUST ME ON THIS ONE...

Very unique spot. Very chill, very fun. Right on the Beltline, so lots of people-watching. And you can easily walk to a busier spot like Krog Street Market.

And Ladybird is literally across the Beltline from Kevin Rathbun Steak. Which has a patio on the Beltline. Amazing.
