Nix, Melendez, and one of Eric Winters, Tarvos Alford, Ty Jackson, or Ezekiel Marcelin would be a pretty great LB class.

I think only taking 2 LBs is a very realistic scenario for this class as well. It may actually be likely imo. Especially since this HS class is likely going to be around 20 and we might only lose Mauigoa at LB after this season.

Chase Smith should be graduating..Bobby Washington is one that likely would be impatient if he isnt seeing the field.

Graduating, maybe. But he absolutely has 2 years of eligibility. And he didn't seem so quick to leave this year when he likely should have if he definitely wanted assured PT...

With Both Washington brothers, we'll just see what they do this year. Bobby will have his opportunity. He's a very different player than Popo, so I don't see that being an issue regarding PT next year.

I mean Wes could leave early if he had a great year. Alderman too technically. Is that the expectation? Doubt it (them leaving early, I think they're expected to have good years).

I don’t understand why you would take more than 2 especially since Alderman has multiple years of eligibility.

i dont see those 2 leaving early to go anywhere. (Wes, Alderman)

Chase is a um legacy him getting a um degree alone may be important then he uses his elgibility to get a starting year somewhere..he looked good in spring game.

Im a fan of Bobby..seen him in person last year...close to 6'3 220 then...and he definately can run.

I like the body types they have brought into the LB room i think they need to continue to do so.
I'd say they should grab 3.

I think 3 will just entirely depend on if they expect to only lose 1 or 3 at LB. Lose 3 and we definitely need 3. Lose 1, I'd say we should only grab 2. Lose 2 and you can go either way. The thing is If we are only going to sign about 20 out of HS like D$ says, we probably need
qb - 1
rb - 1 or 2 (but D$ indicating likely just 1)
wr - possibly 5, but definitely 4 minimum.
te - 2
OL - 4 or 5
Dt - at least 2, but ideally 3
edge - 2-3
cb - **** at least 4.
s - at least 2.

That alone is 23 right there lol. So 2 lbs would put us at 25 out of hs.

You dont think you need more than 8 schollie backers?.

They clearly still want Eric Winters...so im thinking they will try to get 3 in the boat. If its Winters, Nix, Melendez thats an extremely good group.
Depending how you count Pickett/Bryant we have 8-10 LBs right now. Losing Mauigoa is guaranteed. Adding at least 2 LBs in HS is guaranteed. So that's 9-11 right now. If another left we'd still be at least at 8. That's why I'm saying it'd take min of 3 guys to leave before imo we definitely should take 3.

I'd say ideal schollies for LB is 8. Ideal Defense is probably 41 guys:
DT - 8
EDGE - 9
LB - 8
CB - 10
S - 6

I dont see 5 wrs for sure. Maybe 3.

**** we dont lead for any right now lol

Every thing else number wise i like. Maybe 4 ol....i think we are in the portal again.
Im taking at minimum 3 dl. The dts are there in this class for the take. - GRADY, ESPENESA, SCROGGINS would be great as edge guys. Maybe u subject it with a plus size kid that can be a deor edge. Maybe thats what they see with Campbell or Tylon Lee.

Im sitting around that 23 number as well lol

Pickett/Bryant arent lbs at all.

They are strictly edge guys that wont factor into the off the ball lb numbers. Bryant called himself a de this spring...hes comfortable there....He's no diff than Elijah Alston and thats who he should be hip to hip next to the rest of the year.

Yea i think it will all factor out to the attrition. Also i would target 3 because the Melendez kid seems shaky. Solidifying Nix would be great imo.

Im a fan of Winters/Ty Jackson as OLB's ..im actually a bit usrprised they are on Marcelin from Central as much as they are but that is likely Sab Joseph n comps doing.

Well we are definitely losing Restrepo and George. Brown could return, but I doubt it. Redding been graduated like twice or some ****. Shemar Kirk if he doesn't do anything this year still would have another year of elligibility, but would be the least shocking thing to see him leave. In fact I was surprised he returned this year (same with Chase)

And as you said both Washington brothers could be quick to bounce. I think it is VERY realistic we only return 5-6 Wrs next season. Now we next season is THE YR we MUST get a top Portal WR imo. But we need like 11 scholarship WRs. So if ONLY the guys that are fr/so return (Horton, Ray Ray, Robby, Trader, Carr, Chance) we have 5 spots. I'd say 1 needs to be portal. I just really don't see us taking less than 4 out of HS. Maybe if the 3 we got are all like top ranked guys, that could happen...

well they dont see that aggressive in the hs ranks at wr...especially if they told Mills to hold off. (which is assnine if true)

I agree likely losing all the guys you stated. Shemar Kirk does appear to have talent though from the little ive seen. Seems to like being down here so far.
1 portal and 3 hs wrs would be my guess.

D$ said that them not accepting Mills commitment was completely false. in the pod today he said basically staff is playing the wr crootin with goal of ending strong late, rather than going hard now. THey want to show it on the field this year basically, and try to just get the top of the top.
