I had a chocolate Doxy lost her a little over a year ago..most stubborn pain in the *** of all times and I loved that dog.

That's tough. Sorry you have to go through that. If its not too late I'd suggest looking up in home euthanasia services. I used Lap of Love and they were great. No stress for your dog having to go to the vet. They come to you, your dog is comfortable at home in familiar surroundings, in his own bed, surrounded by family.
