Gators favored over Canes (per Vegas)

The game is at home, we get an extra day of rest, they have to travel, we kept a ton of players (even though inexperienced) and they lost a ton of players.

On paper, I would guess we would be favored.
 
This far away and they're only favored by 2.5?

I will take it any day of the week, but good thing I don't bet on canes games. Lost too much money

They're still a really good team on paper. Preseason top 15 good imo. I think we can beat them, but I don't think we should be favored until we prove that we can STAY favored.

The line is, IMO, about right. Surprised Miami is only +2.5, but I think Miami wins outright so what do I know.

Games are won and lost on paper.
 
After the season our defense had last year I can see why we aren't favored. I think this is a game we can definitely win but like rokulika said, we have to prove it this year.

It's easy to look at who UF had drafted and think that they won't be nearly as good as they were in 2012, but they are reloading while we're still rebuilding. Our offense is ready, but the defense probably won't be ready by week 2.
 
Good. We'll be able to play out - as we're expected to lose - and have nothing to 'lose.'

I'd probably be more concerned if it were reversed.

If Porter is healthy (not that he is injured but given his history), I think our defense is MUCH MUCH better than last year. He is actually a guy that can do damage. Then if other players like Pierre and Robinson can put in solid time, the front 4 will make the back 7 look better.

By week 2, I don't know. If our defense is healthy, I like our chances for quicker improvement i.e. by week 2.

Besides the fact that the above comment is the most unoriginial comment that gets re-posted on every canes site.... it also doesnt make sense.

The top 25 ranking is fluid, most teams go through the season moving up, down, out of the rankings, and back in the rankings... they all have to "prove" they can stay there.

They went to a BCS bowl last year, we had what, 40 dropped on us by Duke.

What else are they going to base it on?

I don't know what you are talking about unoriginal comments reposted on message boards.....you must be one of those porsters who doesn't realize that once we skate, then we back and no matter how much Corch Dorito changes his philosophies we still don't want to be ranked unless we can stay ranked.

Kyle already posted this, but thanks. I think zone's jimmies might be rustled and I also think that Golden just gets it.

Another thing nobody has mentioned is that Son Life is going to be brutally hot at noon on September 7 and we practice all summer in this heat and it's hot.

We also need to bear in mind that dannyboycane will be coming out with his prediction for this game. Immediately.

Don't forget about the investigation either. The sooner the NOA gets passed to the LOIC and onto NCAA HQ and the COI and Emmert the sooner we can sign some DTs and maybe even make a final pitch at Sony.

Again, Eddie Johnson and Gabe Terry are both coming back to the team in August according to Terry's mom's twitter, so stay tuned to Raising Canes for another installment of Mind Games and potential new uniforms and/or helmets.
