Tears Gator Tears

yall are trippin thinking Kelly is a trash coach.

Oregons kryptonite has always been smash mouth Defenses that are tough in the trenches and push their **** in... I.e Stanford or any SEC team they played in bowls

How would it look if he played Bama, UGA, LSU, USCe etc with those teams always loading up in the trenches to push his soft gimmick offense in

****. I forgot about Oregon's match ups with Stanford. Oregon would do great against every other Pac 12 team, but Stanford would routinely push their **** in and ruin their season. Rarely has Chip done well against strong defenses as you've pointed out.

He was 2-2 vs Stanford and both were close losses

when they're full of **** they prefer to double down on it. smdh.

Literally if you just look at my post showing his 4 yr tenure, how can you think Chip Kelly is a bad College HC or that he'd be even close to the disaster that Horsetooth was

That's because Oregon didn't have access that type of player. The mere fact that Kelly had them in the national championship conversation annually is incredible. He'll have access to those types of players at UF.

Mkay your a delusional fan who thinks Florida kids are they only ones worth a **** in the nation

News flash nfl kids come from cali Texas LA miss Alabama etc

Oregon got their very fair share of kids they wanted

And I’m guessing those two wins he eventually lost to an SEC defense later that season

Thanks

I'm from Chicago. I don't have that Florida bias. I know you can get highly rated kids from all over.

What I'm saying is that the state of Oregon doesn't have a deep pipeline of talented kids. They had to dip into California for those players where Oregon isn't the top choice for those highly rated guys. Especially along the lines.

...and all the top kids that went to Oregon did so solely because of him and what he did for those 4 yrs.

what happened to oregon when they left?

Anyone saying Chip Kelly sucks huffs glue, plain and simple. He never won an MNC but did everything else. He lost a close one to Auburn and that team that lost to the suckeyes, was essentially his team even though he didn’t coach them anymore. I will agree that his short comings are that he hates recruiting but so did Spurrier. Chip Kelly would be a homerun hire for them. It doesn’t matter we should be scared of them but they would end up being a successful program again, no question.

Thats awesome if your Miss st... Texas AM.... Vag Tech... Duke

But when your at a program like Miami, florida who just ran off their coach, lsu, etc its natty titles or bust

I could see Chip going to UCLA and killing it again being in cali and juicing it up again in the PAC12

It's purely speculation that he takes the UF job. I never said he sucked as a coach. He's a good coach. You don't coach in the NFL after having success in college and be considered a crap coach.

But his style didn't really work in Philly/San Francisco, and the same could probably be said in conferences where defenses are actually played. If he took the UCLA job, I think he'd do really well there given that there's plenty of talent in the area and he's in a conference where defense comes at a premium.

Ok.... Chip Kelly will get you there and the argument is that at the right school he could do that. Isn’t that our logic behind Richt? He not only never won a chip, he never played in the game.

Completely agree... Chip would have USC firing their Helton in 2 years!

Not sure he is a great fit for Florida.

His 1st yr he won PAC12 (first pac coach to win conference outright in 1st yr). Lost in Rose bowl to tOSU. Named PAC coach of yr. Finished 11th

His 2nd yr he took them to the national championship where he lost to AU by 3. He swept all coach of yr awards. Finished 3rd.

His 3rd yr he blew out #3 Stanford. Won 3rd straight PAC championship. Beat Wisconsin in Rose Bowl. Finished #4 .

His 4th and last yr he lost to stanford in OT with RS FR Mariota at QB. Beat KState in Fiesta Bowl. 4th consecutive BCS Bowl game. Finished 2nd.

He beat Stanford twice and lost to them twice, once in OT where they missed game winning field goals twice.

But yeah, he was a terrible coach

Look, you seem to need a gentle approach when discussing football issues, so I will say this very politely.

Chip Kelly is hot garbage, and here are the reasons why.

He spent all of 4 years at Oregon, but he didn't have to do much. He inherited a 10-3 bowl-winning team from Bellotti who RETIRED. Thus, there was no turbulence or transition associated with him being elevated to HC from OC.

Kelly then proceeded to go 10-3 again, this time losing his first bowl game. He then won 12 games for the next 3 seasons, which is admirable, but he won no national championships. And in that INCREDIBLY short span of time, he managed to get an 18-month show-cause and 3 years of probation for Oregon.

He then left for the NFL. He did OK at Philadelphia, winning 10 games twice, but he was fired in his third season while under .500.

He coached for 1 year at San Francisco, going 2-14.

He does not even coach, currently.

Not only is his career on a downward trajectory, I would simply say that we have all seen this movie before. I'll give you two words: Larry Coker. I'll give you two more words: Dennis Erickson.

Both of those UM coaches not only inherited great programs at UM, but they also had more success over their first 4 seasons than what Chip Kelly had in his ONLY 4 seasons at Oregon. Coker won one national championship (arguably two) and Erickson won two national championships. Yet, ever since those guys left UM (one voluntarily, though also somewhat followed by the NCAA sanctions, while the other was fired), they have not had anywhere close to the same record of success that they had in their first 4 years at UM.

That's why Chip Kelly is not such a hotshot, he is simply overrated and riding on the memories of a great 4-year run.

And, to relate this to Gaytor Tears: THIS IS WHY I WOULD LAUGH IF UF EVEN CONSIDERS CHIP KELLY - THERE WILL BE MORE TEARS IF HE IS HIRED, AND THERE WILL BE MORE TEARS IF HE IS NOT HIRED.

I just don't understand this.

The Gaytors seem to think they only need to "bounce back".

It's more about...you know...actually GIVING EFFORT. It's not like they had a few bounces go against them. It's that their players flat-out quit.

You don't really "bounce back" from that.
