I dont even believe those were his demands. Maybe more money. But no p5 team is guaranteeing starting time, 3rd downs, etc.

Or they are just so you hear what you wanted but by spring practice they arent keeping their word.

Its all damage control because of this odd "momentum" they think they have; this is a way to keep that so other teams cant say "Why are all these kids leaving with so much supposed momentum."
It’s their way of not acknowledging that veteran players are leaving because they’re not getting NIL opportunities. They see incoming freshmen get huge deals while guys who actually contributed are getting the shaft. Billy having to play a bunch of freshmen next year might buy him another season on the job after he inevitably goes 6-6. Again

He’s somewhat said he’s returning but man idk about him. Wild that he’s been so injured I tend to forget about him. We’re hosting a Miami of Ohio and ECU WR so we’ll see. Honestly, not impressed with our returning current WR room at all. Need proven talent there BAD……and an Offensive Coordinator!!!

His first two career sacks came against FSU….yeaaaaa no. Hit the road to A&M

Just being honest, how much did you pay him for the first three years?

Doesn't seem that crazy that your leading returning tackler, who has been loyal to UF all along, would want a decent one-year bag for all he has invested.

Do you think that George Gumby is just gonna make all of Jack's tackles?

I don’t blame UFail for not agreeing to Pyburn’s demands but anyone else find it weird that so many UF defenders are heading to the portal? Not just benchwarmers trying to find playing time either. A lot of these guys were regulars/starters last year. Regular contributors usually don’t just leave P4 programs that are on the up and up.

Maybe they got tired of being multiple on the front end AND multiple on the back end?

As the other poster said, it’s possible that they threw so much money into that new signing class that the incoming freshman have higher NIL deals than many of the existing players. And if they are starters they’ll want to be out on par to freshmen, or exceed those deals. And if the Gators refuse, then they are out.

If true this is the byproduct of everyone knowing you are throwing stupid money around to HS. The guys on the team are going to want some too. Doubt he is the last one to try and shake them down just like the FSU guys did last year.
$540K annual for a linebacker. Hmm.

If that’s just the average for all starting 11 players on offense and defense, your looking at an $11.9M annual spend on your starters.

So the gators are now dreaming a scenario up where JJ comes "home" to UF?

I like Gumbs ceiling higher than Pyburn but at this point, they are different players. Once Jack got his legs under him, he was REALLY REALLY good against the run which is gonna be hard to replicate. Gumbs is way better as a pass rusher but I mean LJ McCray….time to step it up too!
