3. Maybe, but I'd lean "not too likely." I think Elko leaves for A&M because they can break the bank if they want him (and he has ties). Duke can up his pay and make going to UF a real decision;

I’m torn on this. As much as I’d enjoy bathing in their tears of misery, if they lose against Vandy (whose awful) they aren’t winning another game this year. That might **** them off enough to fire Billy. I hate it every time they win a game but a silver lining of them winning 2 more this year might be to buy Billy another year.

2024 is going to be a disaster for them no matter what so he’s a dead man walking either way.

A lot of people point out the payout of Slingblade Billy.

But let's not forget, if they fire Billy, they WILL try to hire a Power Five head coach. And those guys have BUYOUTS. So the amount that Florida spends will be unbelievably high, on both ends.

UF could spend over 50 million in buyouts and then put another 50 million into a salary, all to lose 4-7 games a year.
 
Is Raymond landing elite dbs there? They got him for Cormani and that failed. I’m sure lsu ain’t skip a beat with dbs but I haven’t followed what they do on the trail.

It would appear that The Gaytor owes Mullen an additional $4M over the next 4 years...



"Stricklin said the school will fulfill the terms of their contract, meaning it will pay Mullen his full $12 million buyout. He is owed $6 million within 30 days of being fired, with the remaining $6 million to be paid out yearly in $1 million payments."

If they were to fire slingblade this year they would definitely be stacking chips. Just not the kind you want.

he is more critical of himself than anyone on the outside is just not enough to come to the conclusion everyone on the outside has that his playcalling is part of the problem.

Yea usually those mediocre HC’s get one win and it saves them I never understand that. How’s PJ Fleck doing? They were all over his *** a couple of years ago and he is a Golden type imo.
 
Regardless of IF they could pay him out, FU is a public university and wouldn't that lend itself to high scrutiny by the Board of Trustees? You are asking for school funding to cover some $50M+ expense. I understand Bull Gaytors fund it, but it still isn't a good look publicly.

Their athletic department is its own entity. The school would not be funding any of this.
