why is a 5 star to a 4 star a 3 point difference and 4 star to 3 star a 4 point difference? It’s so stupid. They’re valuing kids by label only.

They're 4 star heavy, so it was really easy for them to come up with a system that rewards 4 stars as if they're all equal. Then he said "penalize 3 stars since we don't have any".

This is the hard lesson we've learned. 5 stars should have a low bust rate. 4 stars have a moderate bust rate. 3 stars have a low hit rate. But 4 stars are suffering from grade inflation. Everyone is a four star nowadays (or so it seems). It's better to look at the number next to the name than the amount of stars. In aggregate, that's more predictive of success.

At this point it’s about the more granular rating. A four star like Malik who is .97 is not equal to Marcus Stokes who is a .88. Our lowest three star in Frankie who is .84 is closer to Stokes.

Fans grasp at anything to make their rationalizations so they can keep their echo chambers/safe places in tact. The Florida Gators are the elite of the elites, the flagship, their 4 stars are naturally just better because of the helmet they will put on. Also if they somehow arent rated the way they see, well thats some conspiracy out to get their beloved program. We used to do it ourselves. Jacoby Briscoe was the best DT in La. he was a steal and easily a 4 star. Preston Dewey will end up a better QB than Winston who is overrated. J Holley is the best DT in Georgia, steal but since he committed to us he wasn't a 4 star. Jamal Carter is the most physically talented safety in the country, total freak, he is so underrated. We could go on and on. Nobody wants to face reality and whenever someone does they immediately get berated.

This extends to the bigger convo of mopes vs slurpers. Mopes can be annoying but many times arent even mopes, they are rational and are pointing out clearly deficiencies. Slurpers will defend anything and everything. For fvcks sake we lost to FIU and there were still those that defended Manny. WIth that in mind, we should not be surprised if we will continue to see UF fans stay delusional. They were delusional when their class was utter **** and hanging out in the 40s, they are gonna be munching extra crayons, we are talking about the giant crayon bucket, now that they have entered the top 10.
