I have to believe that the bulk of them deep down know what is going on and these type of statements are simply defense mechanisms to cope.

Forgot to add that his bowl wins were against powerhouses Miami (OH) and UTSA. If you want to add 2021, they beat the premier Marshall Thundering Herd. Credit where credit’s due, he won more bowl games than any coach we’ve had in a long time. However, we’d have won a few if we played LA Tech competition every bowl season (except if Manny was coach lol).

All in all, the guy is Al Golden with a better bowl record. Not an elite coach like they may talk themselves into believing.
