These motherfvcking Gaytors need to be arrested for lying.
1. Manny "being slow with taking commits"? WTF? It's called "recruits don't want to jump on a sinking ship". We had credible reports that Manny would be fired after our third game, and then again after our fifth and sixth games. Even after the regular season was over, Manny was making public statements about how he just needed to sign another one to five recruiting classes before Miami would be competitive again. We had a FOUR MONTH period (basically, the entire 2021 football season) where we got ZERO commits (and 1 decommit), and the Gaytors think that was BY CHOICE? Hilarious. Sure, we were waiting until December Signing Day to take more commits...
2. None of our kids bailed when Diaz was fired and Cristobal was hired? Wrong. One decommitted during the season, and two after the season was over (yes, those two were pushed out by Mario, but still). It's not hard to do a search on 247, Gaytors. Same on the "didn't have dead weight to drop". Really? Mario dropped two of our SEVEN remaining Manny verbals. Maybe those numbers aren't enormous, but as a percentage, it's significant. Now, I can agree on the "didn't take fluff to fill up the class" comment, that is accurate.
3. As for Mario "starting way ahead of the game in recruiting" South Florida...of the five Manny verbals that he kept, zero-point-zero were from South Florida. Yes, Manny technically got a verbal from Bissainthe while he was still officially employed and Mario was not yet announced, but at that point, everyone knew that Manny was out and Mario was in. Bissainthe was the ONLY Dade player signed. Mario landed all of TWO Broward recruits, for a grand total of THREE recruits from Dade-Broward-Palm Beach. So I'm really not sure how this "South Florida players like South Florida" helped us in this cycle. Maybe next year, but not this year.
