Temple was BUILT by Al Golden. What a great job by Al

NO HE DIDN'T. Moving to the MAC conference saved Temple.

Temple was in the MAC conference 2 years removed from being kicked out of the Big East and Golden could BARELY win if at all there.. Golden largely won 4-5 games a year IN THE MAC with BIG EAST players.. He had 2 solid year by temple standards IN THE MAC conference and everyone started calling him the "savior" of the temple program..

I remember there was a MAC analyst back when Golden was hired in 2011 and he straight up said Golden was a mediocre game day coach and had mediocre result for having a team with Big East talent on 'em.. Of course we trashed him and ignored what he said but next thing you know everything that guy said he was spot on.

I don't wanna get in a Al Golden debate I just had to point out he ain't save nothing.. Anyone could of did what he did especially in the MAC.. if you asked 10 Temple fans would they rather have the "Savior" of their program, Al Golden, or Matt Rhule 10/10 would pick Rhule 100 times over and Rhule had only been there 4 seasons and won in the AAC which is a x10 better conference then the MAC.

He took an 0-11 team that had 54 players on scholarship to 9-3 in 4 years

Temple won two games or fewer a dozen times in a 16-season stretch from 1991-2006

I don't want to pump up Al Golden , but he did a great job at temple, Temple was where he belonged. Matt Rhule inherited a much better situation. Of course Temple fans will tell you they like Rhule better. But to compare the two is stupid.

Temple was on the brink of turning into a D2 program. The conference bull**** is irrelevant when you have 54 kids on your team.

"A couple lessons to take away from this: Teams shouldn’t write off a player who went to a small school, avoid players from Florida colleges located outside of Miami ..."

Here's the real takeaway: don't go to UFæg, kids.
