NGL, I got a little nervous b/c Napier is building quite a crooting staff. Colbert and Raymond were big time adds and getting Tosh would have made them formidable.

I think he does get fortunate sometimes, but it seems to be "his rep for coaching" or "being a cool guy" more than anything else. Many many people told us that Lane was a lazy recruiter.

I think he did well with the Alabama A on his visor. And he turned FAU into Third Chance U.

But "Party in the Sip"? I'm not so sure about that one...

The D... well... that's not that simple
It's sorta like another way to call a horse a gelding
It's four little letters that are missin' here
You get on occasion at the other party

I have no doubt that Lane could have stepped in here, with TVD and some nice offensive pieces and done well in the short term. Long term though, was he going to recruit well enough? Was he even going to stick around long enough? I don’t think Mario is going to be the instant gratification that a lot of fans want but he’ll lay the foundation for consistent success long term.

My thing is he's a great x and O guy but the title teams have recruiters as HC and the xo guys as OC and DC. Also I'm not a believer in wins bring u recruits.....recruiting brings u recruits. Is it a selling point? Sure yea but if u know the recruiting game blue chippers go to 5 loss teams like us. We haven't won in years and we get LT and JW with a coach on his way out. We made the right hire and I'm glad UM brass knows this is the way to go. Mullen is a great x and O guy and Florida figured it out.

I tried to tell you all when everyone was calling for Kiffin to come here. His recruiting is a problem and he won last year with key players the guy before him brought in.
