I’m here to eat my crow. I claimed I would’ve taken Mullen both times he wanted the job here and boy was that a mistake. At least Richt gave us one good year and at least Golden was bad enough to get fired. Can you imagine Mullen winning 8-9 games a year here and having to deal with that clown for eternity? Watching what he’s doing to that fan base is so much sweeter.

He’s a better X’s and O’s Head Coach than what we saw last year from Year 1 Manny although sticking with Franks over Trask is baffling.

He sticks with Knox as RB Coach who makes Rumph look like Cristobal as a recruiter. Now Hevesy can’t recruit so well on the OL.

He won’t win a NC. It seems like at some point things will implode. Every year they have these awful off seasons but he delivers 10 wins and saves recruiting. I don’t know how long he can keep that going.

And don’t forget, son of their greatest (and only) running back, Emmitt Smith was an option too and yet picked elsewhere.

I’ve said from the beginning that the Gators were in purgatory with Mullen. They’ll win a bunch of games a year but won’t have anything of substance to show for it. The talent gap with UGA continues to widen. Bama/LSU are on a different level. UT is loading up and will soon not be a rollover.

How long will that fan base be okay with #2 in the East every year?

They have maybe another season or two at #2 before Tennessee usurps them. Pruitt has a solid staff and is using the same model Kirby has.

Hes a leaner. He doesn't drive off the ball he just leans on the smaller defenders. Its pretty telling that he doesn't finish blocks with pancakes. He has slow feet, and I thought it funny he put a block in the back on his highlight tape. Lastly he carries bad weight on his frame

Thanks. I wouldn’t know what I’m looking at so much appreciated. It sounds like his lack of a ranking isn’t far off. It’s amusing that some of the gaytor fans already made him a high 3 start - essentially because he’s their commit.

This is great for the Gaytors, here is a kid who WILL NOT transfer to Miami after 30 minutes in Gaynesville.

I see that the Gaytor porsters are already pressuring 247 to give this kid an 87 rating.

But, hey, they have coaches who can "develop" a literal sack of ***** into an all-SEC OL and a first round draft choice.

Remember that 400 pounder that signed with the Gaytors? Ethan White. Yeah, they have developed the **** out of him, all the way up to second string. Imagine if the Gaytors go to the Fiesta Bowl, Ethan White is going to feast...at the steak fry...

Isnt there some formula they use that if a recruit commits to a P5 school they automatically become a 3 star... i could be wrong here but i feel like fsu or uf took a recruit last cycle who had 0 p5 offers and was unranked and he automatically got 3 stars

If he did that here he would never be fired. We would be in Mullen purgatory and idk if I could live like that.

Probably but does that mean he starts at a high 3 star? If Clemson, UGA or Bama offered him, I could see that carrying more weight on the level of 3 star than us or UiF. They’re not elite across the board like those schools and neither are we of course.

Well, if we are to believe the Gaytor porsters, this is just a function of subscribers. If your school has a lot of subscribers, then Rivals/247 will suddenly move a 0-star recruit to high 3 star, or a 3 star to a high 4 star, just to make your fanbase happy.

What...you are saying it doesn't work that way?

Regardless, that's why I'm not super-obsessed about such an arbitrary system, and I'll never whine about Miami recruits being "rated lower". I definitely think the Rivals/247 systems are flawed and are not good at evaluating talent hotspots such as SoFla, where there are only a couple of writers, but at the end of the day, I primarily care about DEVELOPMENT.

It's still funny to watch the Gaytor star-whores froth at the mouth, though.

Apparently he had a good game against Vandy and now he’s like Rudy on steroids to them.
 
Lol. I finally looked at the tape. Dude is sloppy, has alligator arms, no pop on contact, and bad feet. Most of his "highlights" are guys half his size still managing to get into his chest. The editing was solid though, you could tell he cut off a few of those "drive blocks" right before he loses his (poor) footing and ends up on his a$$.

If you really want to laugh, go to about 1:37 in the highlight. It'll tell you everyone you need to know about this kid. After the lame cut block he and his LG both make, watch how everyone gets up. His teammate is about 3 yards downfield trying to make another block before homeboy has gotten up off the floor.

I sincerely hope this young man signs on the dotted line and becomes a gaytor 4 lyfe.

I got 45 seconds in and I don’t want to watch anymore. He shoots right up and he’s got a sloppy body. He doesn’t move well and you can tell that not only is he sloppy but he needs to be about 40 pounds lighter. He’s like a D version of NaVaughn.
