It just never stops....

Blake Alderman, 247 mod: Florida had a “good talk” with Brooks last night. They feel even if they aren’t the pick today that this recruiting battle will go on to signing day.

Gator poster 1: Staff is already setting up the spin before 9 am. Nice.

Gator Poster 2:
I must say, this was the most elegant way imaginable to tell us he's gone while still leaving a glimmer of hope that might avert board rioting later this afternoon and compel us to read your future articles about this kid. Bravo Balderman.

Gator Poster 3: You mean our staff got played? Who woulda seen dat coming!!!!

At this point here is the scenarios in my head

1. Brooks told Ivins he was going to Florida and Ivins spilled the beans to through it in the face of the people at Swamp247. Saban caught wind(They have a staffer whose sole purpose is to chase down message board posts about their top recruits.) Saban was able to "change" his mind.

2. Brooks lied and said he was going to Florida to garner up some excitement and was going to pick Alabama all along.

3. Brooks is one sly mf who understands Marketing and excitement. Put it out there he is going to commit to either Florida or Alabama but ultimately picks Miami because how can you support and grow a clothing line in Gainesville or Tuscaloosa? Plus there is no law in Alabama that will allow college athletes to make money of their likeness.

But this is a side note on Brooks. For a kid that has a clothing line that he is hoping to build and grow. Why tf arent you looking at schools like Miami, USC, UCLA, and Georgia Tech? Put yourself in the best position to globally sell your brand.
It’s #2

The hilarity.

Did Leonard Manuel sign an LOI/FAA? If so, that's another IC slot that the Gaytors squandered, just so they could have a highly-rated recruiting class.

And I love how that poster is urging the use of a sliding scale...which the NCAA and UF allow...

Just face it, the kid failed to qualify, which is exactly what UM staff and fans have been predicting for 2 years.

it gets better. now it's our STAFF's fault:

When you are recruiting the premier prospects in south Florida, you want to control as many of the variables as possible, because there are a lot of them surrounding every player down there.

We had control over his timeline and where he was going to choose. We had the upper hand on Alabama. That upper hand evaporated when it went public and the biggest wild card in the game (Nick Saban) gets thrown into the mix.

The Miami coaching staff were the 1st ones outside of the UF network (everyone on our side did their job) to catch wind of the decision and absolutely had something to do with that pick being made public.

At that point Saban turned up the heat. They were able to schedule a virtual visit this week and Saban talked to Brooks personally after the visit. That is when he allegedly told Saban that he was coming to Alabama. No, it wasn’t just a visit and conversation with Nick that would’ve turned the tide in the recruitment.

So if they can’t get Manuel in and they lose Walker, what does that do to their class? gaytor maths not withstanding.

The excuses they keep making are funny. It was for suspense. Jeudy did this exact same thing years ago and got UF fans all riled up just to commit to Bama. Smart man.
