Game 5: 2/21/25 Princeton W (4-1)

Wait our 5 hole hitting RF has to be pulled in the 6th for defense? What are we doing? We did this in the 7th on Tuesday. I guess RF defense is really important. More so than a 5 hole hitter.
How often do you see a defensive replacement for your five hole hitter in MLB? Not often.

Feels like Arteaga read a baseball strategy book and is trying to layer any moves he read about into the games.

Ogden should move to the 9 hole. Torres gives you more with the bunt/run game.

I’m perplexed by Williams. We can’t possibly think subbing our 5 hole in RF in the 6/7 innings is reasonable. Something way off with that. This is RF.

Now Degoti is coming in for our leadoff hitter at SS? Nothing that is going on makes any sense.

How many times do you see a defensive sub at SS?

Holy ****. This looks like a mess. Hope I’m wrong.

Ogden hitting 7-21 on the season and you want him banished to the 9-hole?

Tough crowd.

I don’t think he looks good at all. And apparently has to be subbed out at SS.

Again, I watch every game and hope against hope for the best. Not seeing it at all.
Ogden got moved to 1st to sure up defense at first, not his defense at short. What makes you not like his approach at the plate?

I really like his approach at the plate, I think his aggressiveness pays off as the season gets going
I hope you are right. Maybe I’m too rough on him. He swung at a pitch that bounced in front of the plate and then got beat later at something 87 or so on a Princeton reliever. He’s also popped up on the right side 2 or 3 times against Niagara and FAU. Didn’t like those AB’s at all.

Better pitching looms. I don’t like what I see but I hope I’m wrong.

So how many defensive subs do we need on a team that isn’t scoring runs unless the other team can’t field the ball?

Thats an honest question. We are subbing all over the place.

I agree with the pop ups, but he also was the only guy to hit against fau. He’s aggressive and jumps on pitches while other guys have maybe been too timid. I get what you’re saying though
