So my assumption of the pitching staff was correct; we played **** poor teams which gave false bravado.

Come ACC play, it’s going to get tumultuous. UCONN is arguably one of the worst G5 teams this season.

Yeah the pitching looked good against Princeton but not so much this weekend. UConn is a very good G5 baseball program. Not sure our pitching can hold up during acc play but we will see.

UConn has been hitting all season! They just showed us our staff is overrated!

Not to take away from how poor we played, I think UCONN is one of the best G5 teams this season. They are an amazing test for ACC competition and aside from certain players we failed. We will get our answer for sure against Wake who just mercied Notre Dame in each game this weekend

They r a sub .500 team

This staff was awful last season. Everywhere! I am not a negative outlook person, but a realist. I wanted to find hope in the portal pickups and it left me with, I hope 🙏 these players turn into this staff's vision. I felt differently while waiting to see what they did. It's still early, but this staff is bad from all I have seen. I am praying I am wrong. Please, Jai Lucas, show me something completely the opposite with the your portal.

A sub 500 team that has played nothing but top competition and been competitive in every game. Take a look at the games they’ve played, if they had an ounce of pitching they’re undefeated. Again, we should still be taking care of buisness

When I post things, I really wish u guys would stop responding to me as if I’m sort of casual. I’m a sports junkie, & unlike most, I watch way more teams than Miami baseball/football.

Prior to playing us. They’ve played 4 top teams:
PSU, FAU, Vandy, UCLA while losing to 3 mediocre teams in Stetson, Mizzou, & USC.

As I said, UCONN is not a good team this season.

Curious as to how my response treated you like a casual but that aside what exactly makes UCONN a bad team besides their pitching? They’re scrappy, play situational ball, and tap into their power when needed. For a G5 team they pass the eye test by far imo.

B/c their pitching stinks & they have only 3 guys to do damage which is Minick, Daniels, & MacArthur. This team didn’t have a lot of pop until this weekend. They’re also a high strikeout team, which is y @ErickMarreroU was thumping his chest on Friday “lol’ing” at them having a 10% chance to win “a game” against us this weekend.

We r not a good team; I questioned the vast majority of the portal additions, & I was gravely concerned about pitching. So yeah, UCONN looked great against us, but let’s not conflate them looking great against us w/ them being a good team. We should’ve smoked them this weekend.

The strategy comparison was definitely on my mind as I typed
Currently *****ing to my other coaches about the quality of strategy, fundamental execution and adaptability game to game from two Connecticut schools (UConn and Yale) this weekend as I watch the Yale-Rice game on replay.

Again I'm confused why you felt I approached you as a casual because I agree with most of your points here. I just disagree with your point that we're saying they're good because we lost. As you said, we should have smoked this team as a ACC school should. All I'm simply saying is that UCONN was just pitching away from being a G5 team that makes serious noise, which is something that I said before this series during the previews. I respect your opinion, and if UCONN amounts to nothing this season I will gladly eat my words, but watching the way they scrap for runs and extra bases is a sign of a team that becomes a pest in postseason play

I will say this. UConn certainly doesn’t get the talent an ACC roster gets, but somehow with lesser talent Penders had them in the super regionals in 2022 and 2024. Miami?? Coaching matters.
