Game 15: 3/7/25 UCONN 7-2 L (11-4)

Trying to figure out how anyone thought we’d sweep them. UConn is a solid program, well coached, and we suck and are not well coached. We might take the series with a Hugus win tomorrow but we aren’t good enough to be predicting sweeps.

Their 3rd win

Going in 11-3 felt really weak. See what happens but it looks to me like the song remains the same.

We have a bunch of wins against mid competition. UF, Uconn and FAU a different story. I have watched UConn for many years…Penders puts a good product on the field that competes for 9 innings.

But what did he do yesterday? Isn't your main concern with him the pitching? what did you see yesterday that has changed your tune on the pitching..... Nick Robert gave up 5 hits yesterday. the bullpen gave up 2 hits (4 pitchers in the bullpen)

If you have a personal issue with him that is fine, but confused by your post? when Arteaga didn't lose us the game?
 
Canes have lost two out of their four games by 1 inning meltdowns.

FAU 7th inning
Uconn 2nd inning

After those two meltdowns we've given up 3 total hits......... Need to limit the 1 inning meltdowns from our pitching and we will be fine. Regardless of that though we still likely lose last night. Bats were nowhere to be found

Timeout.... You've talked twice all season on the baseball board and it's when they lost two out of four games? I just want to ask why don't you comment when they win? or do you just come to push negative propaganda against the coach? Just confused by your motives. Are your a baseball fan or an imposter baseball fan who is a football fan and only comes in here to talk **** about baseball team / coach? because that is what the evidence shows against you............

Last thing i will tell you... Think before you type and get educated

This is laughable. Mr 10% telling someone else to get educated and to think before they type.

Get JDs hotdog out of your mouth. The guy is trash. I’ll repeat - he’s the one constant that’s been around the program for the past two decades of the downturn to UM baseball.

I appreciate you keeping the baseball board alive with updates, but you should probably leave the educated baseball talk to the adults. You’re in the minority when it comes to JD. Anyone with a working brain and knowledge of UM baseball wants him gone before he was gift wrapped the job. Hes a bum!
 
The confusing thing to me is always the bullpen selections and our Friday starter. He threw our best bullpen guys tonight while down 5 runs. Burned two of them for the series. Derias was killing it, then two errors let dudes on first and second and then he brings in Fernandez who is avg and has trouble walking guys and guess what he does.. he walks the bases loaded. Then had to face their big dude who is hitting 400. I fully expected a grand slam. He did get out of it but why are you down grading pitchers and bringing in a guy who has walking problems in a situation where he already has runners on? Why are you burning your best bullpens guys on a Friday night when your team is flat as **** and down more than 4 runs?

Its clear to me and I'm not sure why its not to him that Roberts isn't who he thinks he is. He is a bullpen guy or a weekday starter who throws 92 straight had makes a ton of mistakes high. The only way that changes is if he gets a lot better command. Straight and 92 is bp. Not being able to control your breaking stuff makes it even worse. Deria or Collera needs to get looks as a weekend starter.

Torres is miserable. Right now he doesnt deserve to start every game on the weekend and its not helping him. Let him start against righties only and bring him in late for D if your up in the rest of them. Bunt him as much as possible. I just knew last night he was going to hit into a double play. At this point he looks like another Kulikowski mis eval.

A lot of the guys in the lineup are not even scrappy guys. There ABs are not great. They're not fouling balls off and fighting it's just bad pitch selection. We have two starters that strike out over 30% of the time and 5 that strike out in the 20s...

To me the lineup needs to be Ogden, Galvin, Cuvet, Dorian, Marsh and having to put Dorian in the 4 hole means once again our offense sucks.

The pitcher they threw at us was basic. I don't think he hit 90 and I saw so many 88 mph fastballs right down the middle of the plate. He hasn't made it 5 innings all year got knocked out of the game by FAU in 3 innings.

JD Arteaga is the head baseball coach. The baseball team lost to a 2-7 northern team. The baseball team will struggle to get into the postseason. Arteaga doesn’t get a pass just because the pitching wasn’t terrible last night. He is the head coach. That encompasses the entire program, which lost again.

Progress. Will be good enough for the administration. Erick will tell things are improving and everything will be OK.
