Game 10: 2/28/25 Florida 6-2 L (8-2)

What’s Vanderbilt’s excuse as a private school?
Vandy has a scholarship fund called Opportunity Vandy that guarantees if someone from a house hold income of $150k or less gets into the school they will have a full tuition scholarship. Funded by alums, parents, and friends of the school. This has been known for several years

Minus the walks towards the latter innings the pitching did their job for the most part. Without the errors at the end there its a 5-2 ballgame against a top team. We need to have more at bats like the first two innings where we applied pressure.
OMG let’s not do the “but, if” thing. Our team is not good enough to compete against good teams. The real question is, will these coaches fix it. Personally I don’t think they will.

Not a but if thing. We lost, and even with the lack of errors and walks that I mentioned we still lose. My point is that we need to improve in multiple areas especially with hitting

As I said, against a team like this you have to continue to pile pressure. After we went down 3-2 it seemed like we got deflated and it showed in the at bats minus a couple of guys
Yikes I don't like the sound of that at all. Mentally weak teams don't do very well when it matters. I really hope that's not the type of team we are this year.

What about Wake Forest?

Team needs to battle today. First three innings we consistenly had 5-9 pitch AB's Peterson 62 Through 3IP. 4-6 we had 2-5 pitch ABs and Peterson threw 26 pitches in those three innings. Team needs to show some fight. Once we got down, it's like we gave up with our bats.

Frustrating for sure, they beat us on the scoreboard, taunt us and toy with us and we can’t do a **** thing about it.
Agree. I guess it's going to take a benches clearing brawl to fire them up. At least Cuvet showed a little of it on his HBP. Don't ever see JD getting tossed as a motivator.

Hugus is our best hope. Hopefully, he's got that Ziehl bulldog in him.

But it won't matter if someone doesn't hit a 3 run HR, etc. and then stare down their pitcher to flip the script. Somebody has to put this team on their back a get a W.

Yeah we need to Cuvet or Galvin to hit a home run. I was surprised that Hudson had 2 hits yesterday.

I gotta sell my LIFW stock to get this going for the U.

Talent drain. No development... no home field advantage.. I played against them in the late 80s early 90s with that spongy turf. They were a different team with that lotta small ball great defenses and pitching and the turf was a ************. No one is nervous to go there and play against them on their own field. You just knew if you were going into the late innings close.. you were gonna get screwed by the umpires because that strike zone tightened up big time.
